Biometrics Done!

2 weeks early...woo hoo

Good for you, now is just wait.

Did you call before to go?

No, I didn't I read somewhere some offices have walk in days and just went on the chance they would take me in today rather than in 2 weeks.

I tried too, but couldn't find a number for that office anywhere..

She also said if I brought I485 NOA1, she could give me 1 year DL. So I went back to home and took NOA1 then applied again! Now I have 1 year DL. :)

So, I think DL office issue DL in accordance with the expiration date of USCIS doc. i485 NOA1 does not have exp. date ;)

I might give this a go because I'm itching to get my permit and start driving! Not sure if they'll accept it here in Missouri though because she didn't even mention it. Worth the try though, I suppose. Persistence may just get us somewhere!

Thank you Leafgal! Hopefully, we'll catch up soon! ( :crying: Only upset because of high likelyhood of loosing nice job offers... but I guess I knew that from the start, so I will stop complaining, let go and relax a bit :-)

It is great to know about the possibility of walk-In biometrics! I will certainly try it here in LA when I am finally in the system! Thanks for the useful info

Thanks to Steph0814, I succeeded walk-in biometrics here in Miami today!

Since my appointment is 23rd, I didn't want to wait that long... (my app notice was of May 2nd... 3 weeks! ). I should have tried earlier!

It was very smooth, no one's mean. I didn't mention that my appointment was 1 week ahead, I just passed the notice. No conversation about appointment, security gentle man checked my passport, and passed application to fill in, saying it's the first time for him to see Japanese there . A handsome young boy took my fingerprints with a few Japanese greeting words :) .

According to office locator website, Miami office allows walk-in only for military people from 9AM to 3PM, I assumed it's pretty vacant in the early afternoon because there's no base around there... so I tried 1:30PM. Bingo! No queue.

So... where did the appointment date come from??
