Thx you. Last night I cried about it but this morning I feel better. It sucks mostly at night. Reading other threads that share the same worries is difficult but it also makes me realize how much we do love each other and what we do for each other during this difficult time. I just hope I get this visa situation figured out during the delay.

Aww Olivia just wanted to say I didn't know you were going thru this huge separation. I admire you and you've stayed so strong knowing you won't see him as everyone here is seeing their spouses (sorry if that just made you feel bad lol) Just wanted to say you are so positive in such a situation . God bless you! And he's so lucky to have a wife like you.

Aww don't cry it's ok. Really it's ok. He's in the military and he'll be such a strong man you won't have to teach him anything he will know how to be a man and take care of his wife and live happily ever after and never separated again. This process taught me never to take my husband for granted!! Never to fight just kiss his forehead when we fight face to face and forget about it never know what can happen tomorrow!

You should write a book if you ever get a chance. I think this would make a good romance novel!

He says that all the time! How we're a romance novel.

Aww, that is so sweet and romantic. My husband says the same thing, and also how we will have an awesome story to tell our kids about our relationship. I bet your story would make a good book too. I don't know if there is anything like that out there - nothing I have read or heard of.

Good luck with canceling the I-129 and continuing with the I-130 process !

Thx! I guess I will consider the book some more. Well I'm heading home for the night to work on papers. Night all!

Thx for your help!

Looks good. Make sure, you mentioned you and your husband's names and date of births with the case number. Usually Consulate, NVC wants case number on the email's 'subject' line. Good luck.

I'm so sorry, Olivia {{{{{hugs}}}}} ...as if the process isn't difficult enough!! I admire your strength and patience!!!! The wait will be over before you know it.. (L)(L)(L) if you ever feel like talking, i'm right here :)(F)(F)(F)

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

My best friend called me this morning to tell me she had a feeling something really good was going to happen for me. Surprisingly I got an email back from the Counslar today in reply to the one I sent yesterday to them. It was in the form of what I needed to do for packet 3! :wow:

Here it is:

Dear Madam,

We received the case file from the National Visa Center. Please advise your fiancé to complete the following documents and mail them to our office via DHL. The petition is automatically extended once the process starts.

1. Photocopy of passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

2. Photocopy of birth certificate

3. Police certificate from every country where the applicant lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16 (not all are obtainable or required; call us at 02-797-2201 for further information)

4. Photocopy of military certificate (for men between 18 and 50 years of age)

5. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner and notarized before either a notary public in the U.S. or a consular officer at the embassy (this can be done on the day of your appointment).

6. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment

7. Medical exam for applicant list attached

8. Applications:

a. Two completed DS-156 visa application forms; you fill it online and print it through the link: https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

b. Form DS-156K; you may also print it through the link http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf

c. Form DS-157, you may print it through the link: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/79964.pdf

9. 2 photos face view photos with a white background for the applicant

10. A receipt of payment for the visa application ($131) from the Commercial International Bank (CIB) in Egypt.

Once we receive the required documents, we will review the case and schedule an appointment for his final visa interview on the first available slot.

Regards,

Consular Staff

I wonder what this means? - "The petition is automatically extended once the process starts." Does that mean they are going to extend your I-129 petition, instead of having you switch to the I-130?

Is there one that you would prefer? (I guess you said the I-130, since it would save you the step of AOS in the US?)

Well good luck, and at least they wrote back to you quickly - that is encouraging!

Olivia, you don't necessarily have to cancel the K3 in order to proceed forward with the I130. In fact, it might be better off to wait until both are at the embassy before cancelling anything......especially after you've gotten thus far. Since you have some time due to the military stay (sorry about that btw) you might want to file an I824 to have your I130 forwarded to the NVC. If you do not file that form the USCIS will not forward your I130 to the NVC......emails, letters, faxes, etc. won't help. It takes about 3 months for the I130 to be forwarded to the NVC (at least it did from the Vermont Service Center) and from there it'll take about another 3 months or so for processing to be completed at the NVC before the papers are sent to Cairo. With the CR1, the NVC will take care of everything on behalf of the consulate......they will even schedule the interview. Your husband will just need to show up to the interview with his medical papers & vaccination report.

If you have months to kill.............this is an option.

Good luck to you.

When asked the consular replied the extension was the best course for the process.

Awesome! I think I am going to do this too because our paperwork will be sitting for awhile with the extension and delay at the consulars.

Ok so here is what is happening. We're going to try to turn in Packet 3 with the help of his sister, Ghada, who is back in Egypt now.

Since Waleed doesn't have a passport anymore because the military won't let him have one in it's place we're going to turn in his letter from the military with an official translation in English along with copies of both sides of his military ID and a copy of both sides of his regular ID that states we're married and he's a doctor now.

If all this is accepted and done before the due date then we get an extension and are on hold until his scheduled interview.

At the time of the interview I know we'll be rejected because he still has time in the military to be served.

At the same time I'm going to be moving the I-130 along to the NVC.

So I'm looking down the barrel of a 221g in the meantime which is kind of a delay in the process but it's ok because we have the time to kill.

What do you all think?

Hey there Olivia,

My husband had the same issue. If he can get some sort of connection, where someone can let him go for a few hours to go to the interview that would be fine. My husband actually did that. Everything in Egypt has to have connections to move along. He even knew someone who got him the movement certificate in two days, and Ive heard it takes 15 days.

So even if he goes to the interview, he can wait the time out. I'm sure it will still take a while with the A/P.

Best of luck! (F)

15 days to get the movement certificate a week to get the medical report. This is unfair because I just got the request for packet three yesterday with less than two weeks before the I-129F's expiration date.

I sure hope he can get some connections. It really does seem to be about who you know there and not what you know.

Thx for the info!
