So do you figure that on a K1 with an advance parole we'd be able to go to Mexico?

Haha, yea just part of the annoying process we call LEGAL immigration... But hey just remember you're real close to being done with this ####### forever

I already told her it would be quicker to fly her into Mexico and just buy her SS# at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles.

I actually checked Mexico's rules for a Thai visitor (Was considering taking her on a Mexican vacation last year), and as best I could figure out, Mexico requires visitors from Thailand to have a valid US tourist visa to enter Mexico. Guess that's one way to cut back on visa processing, just outsource it to your northern neighbor.

Our Visa Journey

07/29/07 ---- Mailed I-129F

08/25/07 --- Check finally cashed (8/27 I should be able to see the R number on the back).

08/27/07 --- NOA1 Arrives from CSC and I create my account profile on the USCIS.Gov web-site (the clock starts)!!!

02/05/08 --- After 191 days NOA2 (Approval) comes at last!!!!

2/14/08 --- NVC sends letter saying that it's on the way to the US Embassy in Bangkok

2/25/08 --- She receives Packet 3 from the Embassy

3/29/08 --- She receives Packet 4 with interview date (July 11th).

3/30/08 --- I e-mail the Embassy asking to make the date earlier because I've already got our tickets for June 13th!!!

5/6/08 --- No help from the Embassy. Rebooked tickets and vacation till September.

5/21/08 --- Embassy calls her and moves interview to May 27th!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!

9/21/08 --- POE San Francisco!!!!

12/8/08 --- Married!!!!

12/15/08 --- Mail AOS + AP + EAD package to Chicago

I would think so. But don't trust my research. It was a year ago and not the most thorough.

Also figure it depends how you get into Mexico. When crossing on foot from San Diego to Tijuana, there's no checkpoint of any type. Just walk through a fenced in walkway and out onto the street in TJ. I think the hard part is getting back into the US. :P

Hey all,

For my Fiancee to sign the forms for packet 3, should she sign her name in Thai as it appears on her passport or in English? She signed her name in English for the 129F before which is just her name printed in English. I don't see anywhere that specifies.

Thanks,

Steve

Just letting everyone know my fiancee passed her interview today at the Bangkok Embassy. I'm so proud of her. I know she was very nervous prior to her interview.

Questions asked:

1) How, where and when did you meet your fiance?

2) Since we met first online, they asked her to spell the website. Not sure why that was.

3) How do you communicate with your fiance?

4) How long did your fiance stay when he visited you?

5) Where did you visit when your fiance was in Thailand (landmarks etc)?

6) Did your fiance ask you to marry him?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how to see if the embassy has received our packet 3 yet? Should I just email them at visa.bkk.state or whatever their email address is, and ask them? I sent them an email about our NVC papers and they responded VERY quickly.

Also, what do we do after they receive packet 3? Pretty much just wait for packet 4 right, if we've gotten everything out of the way such as medical, police, etc.? How long should we expect to wait for packet 4?

Thanks guys

Thanks everyone. Finally done with this chapter. Couldn't be happier. By the way, the interviewer didn't really look at our evidence (we had a lot), and he didn't ask her for the "single certificate" as I believe some others have been asked for. I was worried about that. She picks up her visa on the 8th.
