Captian Ewok we are waiting for these questions. Unfortunately, I saw the thread after the last day for questions. Otherwise, I would have asked what exactly determines your case going into a long Adminstrative Processing after the interview. Alot of speculation says it is more likely for those applications who met online. Why would this have a bearing as long as they can prove they have met in person and have proof of an ongoing relationship? Keep us posted.....we would like to see these top 10 questions and answers.

Hi guys. I should put my dunce hat on. I replied to the embassy to the wrong email address and they never got it. With all the emails I get each day I completely dropped the ball on this. I want to thank them personally because they actually emailed me to remind me to send it. If they had not done that then I might not have realized that they did not get my previous email!

I am resending them the list in a moment :).

Awesome Ewok... thanks!!! Lets hope and see how they answer them... by the way, is it the first 10 questions you found on the thread or is it the cherry-picked questions you liked most?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Here are the top 10:

When processing a case, is there a statute of limitation on criminal offenses? If so is that determined by US law or the law in which the beneficiary resides?

What are the most common mistakes / deficiencies in petitions that lead to delays or increase the difficulty in processing the case by the consulate?

What is the proper way to petition a decision by the Consulate if a case is denied?

Do police reports have specific length they are valid? In some consulates the extended wait time for an interview may place a large amount of time from when the police report was issued until the interview date.

In Colombia issued visas are now delivered to the petitioner via courier. Why can they not be picked up in person any more?

Why do the doctors in Bogota require that vaccinations be “fresh” and require beneficiaries to obtain and pay for vaccinations that they have already received (and have proof of)? Is this the consulate policy or the doctor’s decision?

If a beneficiary is unable to obtain and provide an original document such as a birth certificate because it was destroyed or the government records do not exist, what is sufficient evidence to provide in its place? Are there alternate documents that can be used instead?

How can a beneficiary obtain their original documents back after their petition is processed? Often these documents are sealed in an envelope and given to the petitioner to enter the US with. At the Port of Entry the officer opens this envelope and its contents are forwarded to the USCIS. When is the correct time to obtain them back without causing a disruption in case processing either by the US Dept of State or USCIS?

If a beneficiary has moved since the original documents were filed (address on the I-129F for the beneficiary for example has changed), what (and when) is the best way to notify the Consulate of this change?

If a case is in Administrative Review, how can the petitioner or beneficiary obtain the status of this review process? Often the range of time for processing given to the beneficiary is very large. Is this because certain items (such as background checks) are variable or unpredictable?

Hi,

Trying everywhere to get an answer. I will have interview at London embassy UK for K1/K2. I am french and so is my daughter but been living in UK for 14 years. Daughter was born in 1997 (before changes about parental responsibility). I was not married to her father but his name is on birth certificate and on passport. Will the embassy ask me to prove that I have parental responbility as it is automatic.

Thanks

Laurence
