Now, can someone please:

[A] Tell me which forums here to begin scoping next; and

[ii] Tell me exactly what happens next, approximately when, and what I/the fiancee need to do?

Start with the guides, and also check out "The Foreign Embassy and Consulate General Discussion" forum. If you're not already hitting your own regional forum, you should do that too. Your fiancee should start working on her police report, and you should start putting your financials and bona fides together. The guides should help.

May 31, 2007 - Mailed I-129F to Nebraska

Oct. 22, 2007 - NOA2 Hard Copy received!! No email/website update.

Nov. 16, 2007 - Paperwork found & received by NVC!

Jan. 7, 2008 - Finally got the interview date

Jan. 28, 2008 - Interview!! Approved!!!

Feb. 12, 2008 - Arrives in USA!!!

Feb. 18, 2008 - Wedding Day!!!!!!

Feb. 19, 2008 - Apply for SSN

AOS Timeline:

Mar. 12, 2008 - Packet mailed (AOS, EAD, & AP)

Mar. 12, 2008 - Husband's SSN arrives

Mar. 14, 2008 - AOS pkt was delivered at 7:52 AM & signed for by V BUSTAMANTE.

Mar. 18, 2008 - Check cashed!!

Mar. 21, 2008 - NOA's for AOS, EAD & I-131!! (Dated 3-18-08)

Mar. 31, 2008 - Can finally see AP & EAD online!!

Apr. 10, 2008 - Biometrics finished! Can finally see AOS online & EAD touch!

May 12, 2008 - Email: AP approved!!

May 14, 2008 - Email: EAD approved!!

May 16, 2008 - EAD card & AP in hand!!

Sept 19, 2008 - Interview letter - Oct. 24th - Seattle??

Oct. 21, 2008 - A Touch..WOW!! The interviewer must've put it on his/her desk!

Oct. 24, 2008 - Interview..now back to waiting!

Nov 13, 2008 - Approved! Card Production Ordered...finally!!

Nov 24, 2008 - Card arrives!!!!

Being prejudiced, I believe that the rest of the June bunch should go first. After that, I vote that Mox be the first to be put out of his misery, si man. (Uh, did that come out right?) :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Oh, T-Bone has been affectated in the head for years now (the period during which he has been badly abusing his day-pass from the asylum, and referring to himself in the third person, si man).

"Si" = Spanish for "yes"

"Man = English for "man"

Saying it does not make one a "yes-man," but it is a meaningless intensifier when tacked on to phrases that stand quite well on their own, si man. :) Perhaps it is T-B.'s rebellion against Canadians adding "eh" to everything. Why not also "bee," "cee," etc.? Come on, now, si man, eh, verily, wot.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Okay...let me be the first to say "well duh." :D I think what StP (or at least I) meant is, is it an idiomatic expression you picked up? Ecuadorian for "ya know?" perhaps?

No, man; it's self-contrived. (Just wait'll you read my tourist book about Tejas/Mexico border-crossings, the hopefully-final research for which occurs Dec. 21-25 and the writing of which probably won't be finished for several moons thereafterwardly, but you MUST stay tuned for it.) Regarding idiomatic terms, I like this link:

On last visit, I saw a Puerco and referred to him as a Chapa, and a native in the car with us laughed and asked how I knew "chapa." I used approx. 87% of my Spanish vocabulary to reply, "Soy hecho en Ecuador." (For those of you in Rio Linda, that means "Where is the restroom?")

Holy shamoley!! Okay, last week I moved up 22 spots, which gave me 7 more weeks at that rate until approval.

This week I moved up 43 spots. At that rate I'm approved in 3 weeks. :blink: That's 44 days earlier than my predicted adjudication date. Just...wow!

As always, thanks for maintaining the list StP. I am stoked! And not just because of the drugs...

it's just that they take a fair bit of time to do, so when they're completely ignored I feel spurned... I get over it quickly though ;)
