..well...i'm not doing a K-1...but the papers for the CR-1 are taking foreverrrrrrrr and my husband keeps saying "if it weren't for your education..i'd say just come live in egypt!!!!!!!"....unfortunately, i have a few more years of college...otherwise, i'd have no problem moving!! ugh!!

don't know if that's the answer you were looking for.... haha...

all the best!! (L)

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

::It’s you...It’s you...Baby it’s you::

To be honest, she is as patient as I am. If she got her visa tomorrow, fine. If it took another year, well then we wait. Neither of us gets in a tizzy over any of this. We are all in traffic jam. Blowing your horn, yelling out the window, all those things do nothing. We'll get there eventually!

My fiance likes to complain (almost daily) about the beaurocracy of the States and that if he could pay money he'd pay any amount to speed up the process. He is moving here so I can be close to my family, and he doesn't mind at all, he's been really great through all of it. :D

When we went through the process I was the one freaking out and being paranoid. My hubby was impatient but calm and optimistic :) I'm surprised he didn't run away with my being the way i was :))

Mine's impatient and a bit sulky over the whole process. I stay optimistic every single day when I obsessively check the status on USCIS, meanwhile, he can't look at it because it would drive him crazy.

MY better half is like me in that we are not happy the process takes so long but even more unhappy that we have to be apart through the whole process. I wish they would bring out a visa that allows you to stay with your OH while the process is in place and it is one that you cannot marry on thus stopping the USCIS worries about just getting married. We will get there though as the outcome is to be a beautiful life together and that is all that matters :)

We knew going into the process it was going to take a while. Neither of us exactly liked the idea of having to wait another year plus to be together, but what could we do? We knew we wanted to be together so we did what we had to do.

Just wanting to know what is your fiance's reaction/mood to the K1 Process?

Good morning TheJourneyBegins,

I am the "away" fiancée, and upon seeing your thread I wanted to add my feeling:

it has been utter hellllll.

This is not the fault of the country of USA necessarily, there would be challenges like this for other countries, I'm sure.

The very fact that any government pokes its nose in people's love lives and/or families and keeps them apart is totally unnecessary.

It is evidence that whoever decided upon such tactics is not completely human.

They are desensitized.

Why not allow people/families to be together whilst going through any process?

I have a list of reasons as to how and why it would work, as I'm certain you do.

And an even bigger list of how/why it isn't "working" this way where nothing makes reasonable nor logical sense (i.e. the timelines, the loss of people's paperwork, the lack of communication, etc., etc.).

Sorry to hear so many people suffer through this...and yes most do get through it, and it is not without some emotional damage done.

My K1 journey is almost done, and was only sped up to due to extenuating circumstances, otherwise it could have been as the Montreal U.S. Consulate has said: 4-8 months for an interview. Crazy, huh?

And then a new paperwork and hoop-jumping journey starts, and at least I will be with my precious (future) husband.

Good luck Journey, and I wish you a loving and painless adventure.

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

I-485 application transferred to CSC – March 12th, 2008

Travel/Work approval notices via email – April 23rd, 2008

We both joined forces and faced this process with determination, optimism, and dedication. We took equal shares of the responsibility, and I think we make a pretty good team :)

It helped us a lot being equally involved with the process, I think

Must be a Russian thing Slim, mine's about the same way. I stress over it more than she does. When we first started talking about filing, she asked when her Visa could be ready. I told her "springtime." So that's the target she has in her mind, and she's fine with it. The actual being apart from each other is harder, and we've both done our share of lamenting the fact that spring always seems so far away. But as far as the actual process goes, she has no interest in it. She doesn't know what a NOA1 or NOA2 or any of the other acronyms we throw around, and she doesn't care to know. All she really wants to know is when to be at the clinic in Moscow for her medical, and when to be at the embassy for her interview. it's a very grounded view that in a strange way actually keeps me grounded too.

While we waited for the NOA2, I was a ball of stress. Now that Packet 3 is about to be delivered to his door, he's the one stressing. We KNOW that we'll be together, and overall have dealt pretty well with the wait. Now that its nearly the end of the road, we're really getting excited!!!

Me too :)

The funny thing is that we planned the filing the way we did knowing that P can't be here until June at the earliest anyway. He has to finish his Diplomarbeit first and get his graduate degree. So we don't really have a choice but be patient. For some reason getting the NOA2 has calmed me down though. It means that things are progressing the way we want them to.

But overall, P is incredibly patient and very optimistic. I won't lie, this sucks butt, however, we'll just take our few visits and promise that once we get to be together "For reals" that we will truly appreciate the time together. I think this has made (and will continue to make) our relationship stronger.

My fiancee and I feel that it's a long process and a little frustrating knowing that USCIS will not allow expedite processing for an additional fee. Overall, we deal with it and accept it. I mean really, is a six to seven month wait too long when you are marrying someone special (for the rest of your life)?
