AOS application returned to sender

Hello,

I mailed off my AOS, EAD and AP application a few days ago by USPS Delivery Confirmation service.

I mailed the package to:

USCIS

PO Box 805887

Chicago, Illinois

60680-4120

Today I checked the status of the delivery online and the usps website states this:

Label/Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Status: Vacant

Your item was returned to the sender on December 13, 2007 because the address was vacant and no further information was available.

Has anyone got any idea what's going on here?

If I click on the "further details" section of the usps website it says delivery was attempted yesterday at 5.47AM. Could it be that delivery failed because it was too early in the morning??

Thanks.

Wow thats a new one, it is the correct address so who knows what the story is. You might want to try the courier one.

It could be that it was to early in the morning but heck they would know that the USCIS receives a tonne of mail a day.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

Hello,

That is a new one. I sent mine via the Post Office Priority Mail. You may want to check that there are two different mailing addresses for the packages depending on how you send it.

That is the only thing I can think of

Good luck

David

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

We sent our package on Dec. 12th via USPS Express mail to

USCSIS

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

It was delivered Dec. 13th at 1:37PM.

I hope they keep trying to deliver your package, or at least get it back to you in one piece with your money refunded. Good Luck.

I think they're saying that your address was not stated in the application, and they were not able to see from the documents you submitted, what your address was. At least that's how I read it.

That fact that USPS say it's "Return to sender" suggests to me that USCIS didnt even take delivery of the package (for whatever reason). My address was clearly stated on the cover letter and on each of the forms for AOS, EAD and AP.

Other people on here mailed stuff to the same address at roughly the same time so I'm a bit at a loss as to why mine wasnt delivered.

Have you called USPS to ask them what this means? I just re-read your original post, it looks like this is a USPS issue, not USCIS. It does not even look like they attempted delivery. Perhaps if you call their 1800 number someone can better explain to you what that notation "VACANT" along w/ that statement means.

Good luck,
