was on the phone with USCIC and was told that's it up to the service center if they want to give biometrics yes or no. I think thats a crock of $hit. Was told to wait 30 days and see if we get a card or biometric appt. As if. I have to try and find a number to Vermot or else this could take a while to fix.

Mine wasn't. I had a EAD appointment with a picture and fingerprint specifically taken for the EAD and nothing else, and received my EAD card ten minutes later. Had to go back for a separate AOS biometrics appointment later. But that was years ago. :P

Jengles, I'd wait and see if your EAD card actually shows up in the mail before your biometrics appointment.

This also happened to a friends Brazilian wife, she also didnt attend a biometrics appointment. When I mentioned it to her husband he didnt have a clue what I was talking about and said it was all done at the consulate in Brazil.

If it comes off good luck and congrats to you, we all need a help in hand in this minefield.

was on another website and this happened to someone else. He got the card which said FP not available, and had an appointment the next day for his biometrics. As long as the SS office takes it I'm all set.

FP = FINGER PRINTS

It could be because of where you're located and your residence is too far from a biometrics office.

Nope, There is a biometrics office 10 mins away from where we live

Congrats.

My biometrics office is LITERALLY 8 blocks from my old house and I didn't bypass so that wasn't it.

Lucky you. :)
