you can track the package status.

You can use the date after your interview was assigned or the day the operator that NVC says the package left, as the tracking reference date, and then do a search on DHL.The format to use is "EXP 07 OCT 2008A" don't forget the spaces...and to set the date range on the tracking page. The website for tracking is:

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

The package may not go out on the next day, but the reference code will still be for that date.

When your package is able to be tracked, it will make more sense.

You'll see a list of packages going to different embassies. You'll know which one is yours.

NVC does not provide any tracking info. The instructions posted above will help you look at packages that MAY be yours. Give it a week then contact the embassy to find out if they have received it.

I have noticed that, atleast recently, packages NEVER seem to go out on Mondays, even if we are told ours did (mine supposedly went out today as well). Does anyone know a reason for this? Also, does anyone know how long it takes to show up as sent? Like when I would be able to track mine? Is it a day later? Or few hours? Thanks!

Once NVC issues a "case complete" and assigns an interview date, why the nervousness (or need) of tracking your file to the embassy? especially when you can not "zero" in on your particular file...prepare for the interview, thats what should be of concern...all this time we go from waiting for the USCIS petition to be approved, then we move on to NVC and deal with the DS-3032, I-864, and finally the DS-230...once they issue a "CASE COMPLETE" and an interview is issued we are left with nothing else to deal with except the interview...we have become immigration form and procedure addicts...lol...

I'm actually K-1..so my case is far from complete! My fiance needs to send many forms to the embassy, do a medical...etc...so thats why! I need to know when the case gets to the embassy so that he can have the forms ready to immediately send to the embassy after receiving packet 3. also, for k1, we do not get an interview date from nvc..that is after we send all the forms to the consulate. because of this, every day is important!

As mentioned in LingChe’s NVC shortcut, you may not see much transaction at www.dhl.com . Better try this format “MAY 2009A” in the track by reference and narrow down the dates. You will see many transaction and if you are lucky may able to identify which one is your package (see Destination).

JUST tracked my package: although NVC informed me that it was shipped 04-06, but EXP 06 APR 2008A isn't coming up under references in DHL. So, i tried EXP 03 APR 2008A... is it possible that NVC uses 03 APR as received date and use that as reference ?

I'm guessing its not because our recieved date was 4/3, but more likely because they didn't have ours ready to send until after DHL had done their pickup for the day. I think for me atleast, this is the case. Because when I called on 4/3, they said it was at NVC but not even in the computer yet. So i am guessing by the time they got it in the computer and completed, DHL had already come and gone.

I'd say our best bet is to believe these are our packages, and not worry over why :)

Well I guess the easiest way for us to find out is, when it does state ARRIVED ~ we can call the embassy and see whether it really did or not! Yes it is very possible that NVC had our file just never inputted our information until Apr 03.

I'm not worried, especially my fiance is on business trip until May 7th~~~ he wouldn't be able to send off the packet until then... so aggrevating *-*

GREAT Post!!!! Thanks found my petition!!!

Timeline complete and up to date! Check it out!
