Clotheslines Across America

Alexander Lee founded Project Laundry List as a Middlebury College undergrad in 1995, after hearing Dr. Helen Caldicott say we could shut down the nuclear industry if we all did things like hang out our clothes. He's been true to the cause ever since, pushing for clotheslines across the land—even at the White House.

Our goal is to to get people in all communities across America to make using a clothesline or rack "new again" and make it "eco-chic." We also want to make it possible for people without the "right to dry" to hang out.

They are ok in the summer. But, they just don't work in the winter here. Nor, in my yard with a dog who likes to jump up and rip stuff off the line and then drag it through the yard.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

More work for women!

Actually, clothes dried outside really smell and feel different...personally I like it

My mum has never had a drier, nothing like bringing in frozen underpants at the end of a cold day

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I am only considering it is cause my washer and dryer just broke a short time ago and apparently they are a little old to easily find parts.

Hard to believe there are people trying to kill the nuclear power industry in this country despite all the global warming talk and dependence on foreign oil. BTW Caldicott has zero creditials on nuclear energy or the environment. She's a medical doctor.

We almost never use the dryer, my wife thinks it wears out clothes prematurely.. and who am I to argue?

My area does not allow clothes lines but no one has "ratted" us out yet, actually she bought this little clothes rack she hangs most small things on to dry in the house.

A dryer takes a huge amount of energy.

Running at people and catching them under the chin with an outstretched arm? Why would you want people across the country to do that?
