try HERITAGE HOTEL closer to the airport and mall of asia i think... we stayed there twice... and if you book early you can save some money... the second time we stayed there, we didnt book (twas unexpected) and we paid P7,000/night for it (it was P4000 when we had it book)... its a nice hotel somewhat high end... and or try bayview hotel if you want it closer to the embassy (cheaper than the heritage hotel)... stayed there 3-4 times maybe and prices ranges from P2000-4000 for a deluxe room

stayed those hotels (right beside each other) chose it for my med exam and before i leave to the US... they're ok too cheaper and pretty decent. couple of blocks away from Robinson Mall... though if i were to choose, id rather want to stay in bayview hotel... more of an upgrade for me... ... guess i paid P1500/night that time...

Your looking for nice. I have personally stayed in more than a few during my many trips to Phil. The Pennisula, Shangri-La, and Renaissance have always been very nice to stay at. Service is best at The Penninsula, The Shang is tops all around but gets to be expensive. The Renaissance is nice since it is part of the Marriott chain of hotels so I get my miles.

Royal Bellagio in Makati - I referred this hotel on an earlier post of yours. If you and your fiance can get over where it is, you'll enjoy the "show" as I mentioned before. Sitting casually outside watching the show at night is far more interesting than staying in a hotel with a boring frontage. My fiance, because she had never seen anything like what's around the Royal Bellagio truly enjoyed the show. We went into some of the bars and she struck up some conversation with some of the girls inside - she never experienced such so it was interesting to her.

If you can't get over where the Royal Bellagio is, then the Executive Plaza is really nice inside, but not really in a nice place though it is near the embassy.

Again, I'd stayed in Makita (Royal Bellagio or many others), because it is a nicer area (way way way nicer). If you are going to be in Manila for any length of time, it is better to stay in Makati the entire time and on the morning of the interview take a taxi to the embassy. Being stuck over near the embassy for the entire time you are in Manila really blows (my honest opinion).

It costs a little more to stay in Makati, but mentally and physically, it is worth the little extra.

Life..... Nobody gets out alive.

All top tier hotels so pretty much US prices in a third world country.

Yah I took your advice and the Belagio is top of my list right now gonna stay near embassy in cheapie for 2 days for interview then heading to Cebu for 5 days then back to Manila and probably stay in Makati for sure....just hoping for some other inputs before I went ahead and sprung for the Belagio...

What show is it u speak of?

Try Miramar Hotel. My husband and I love the hotel. We've been there for couple times and I stayed there during my interview. The first time we went there was I am with my friend and stayed with me which I thought that they will charge us for extra but they didn't. Staff were very nice. US Embassy just opposite side and Rizal Park is near too. The location is great!

I got a condo on my last trip to manila...We stayed at the Lancaster Condo units and truly enjoyed it..

They have a good restaurant downstairs, free breakfast, internet access, super clean condos and a pool on the rooftop..

We paid $ 400.00 us for 7 nights...Came out to about 70 a night...

Also its close to almost everything.....And before i forget...The staff was really good......
