Maybe this will be helpful for some of you who are getting ready for the interview. Goodluck everybody!

The night before the interview i was the one who was really nervous, my fiance, who was going through the interview was'nt -- at all. He was really confident that he was going to pass his interview. Well fortunately he did! So it is really important to stay CALM and be CONFIDENT during the interview. If your relationship is REAL, you dont have to worry about anything! Just answer the questions with confidence and be EXACT! We have one problem though, i dont have a job, so the "Petitioner" should be the primary sponsor. My dad was our co-sponsor, the petitioner is STILL the primary sponsor so you have to fill out an affidavit of support as well as the co-sponsor. By the way, some of the consuls and pre-screeners in manila doesnt accept those cases who have co-sponsors. It is really, i mean REALLY helpful that the beneficiary or the fiance of the US citizen have a job during the time of interview. If your prescreener or consul doesnt accept your case, (this is only a suggestion) you could show them your bank statements, properties, or job related documents just to show them that you are not going to be a burden it the US and that you are capable of working once you receive your working permit. And dress appropriately!!!

Here's the story:

My fiance arrived at the embassy at around 5:30am. He was in line til 6:45am. He showed his appointment letter to the guards and they let him in. The so called teller announced to fix and get their DS forms ready. Then he went in line to get his number (immigrant section). He got the number 7004. He waited for the pre-screener. Then fingerscanning. Then the filipino prescreener asked for his documents (birth cert, cenomar, appointment letter, nbi clearance, pictures and emails) She didnt ask for the affidavit. When she finished fixing them, she asked a couple of questions: 1.Name 2. Name of the petitioner 3.What is the job of the petitioner 4. job of the beneficiary. Since i dont have a job he told her that i was reviewing for my board exam. He showed her his bank statements, and employment documents. The pre screener asked who gave the money in his bank account, he told her that it was given to him by his parents for his BAON here in the US and for the wedding expenses and stuff. Then she asked a couple of questions about his job. Then she told him to wait for his number to ba called to be interviewd by the consul. He was in room 32. He greeted the consul good morning and he answered back. The consul asked for his 1. name 2.my name 3.where in the US will he live 4. then the consul said "i see your a nurse", then my fiance answered him "we are both nurses" ^_^ 5. where is her father working. I also made an EXPLANATION LETTER WHY I DONT HAVE A JOB! They really read my letter. It stated there that i dont have a job because i am studying for my board exams and i need to focus. And i also said that " i will surely have a job right after the board exams since nursing is highly needed amongst many hospitals here in california. ( If you dont have a job, YOU SHOULD MAKE AN EXPLANATION LETTER) and if you dont reach the poverty level (YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR CO_SPONSOR WRITE A LETTER THAT THEY WILL VERY MUCH SUPPORT YOU AND YOUR FIANCE). Then thats it the consul said congrats your visa has been approved, consul said "dont be surprised".(I think its because he has a job) Then he was given a PINK SLIP. He said that the consul was nicer than the prescreener.. hehehe  Then the consul told him to pay 250 to delbros. The delbros lady said to wait for the visa to be delivered on his door steps.

Remember:

Be nice to the pre-screeners because they will give the consuls the basis of what questions to ask you during your interview. Befriend them if possible ;)

quite true that some CO are nicer than the filipino pre screeners! and sometimes you will have a longer conversations to them than the CO. i see them writing on a paper and typing on the computer everything your are saying

Congratulations :star:

I agree. Some pre-screeners are like detectives. They ask more questions than the COs.

I AGREE THE PRE SCREENERS ARE STRICTER THAN THE CONSUL..

BUT ITS OK IF THEY MAKE THINGS HARDER FOR US...JUST SAD TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE OUR CO FILIPINOS....BUT ITS OK, THEY MADE US STRONGER ANYWAYZ...RIGHT?

CONGRATS EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS TO OUR NEW LIFE!
