I-864, I-864A..few questions.

Okay so i'm getting them ready to send to NVC.

My dad and mom are sponsoring me, do they both have to fill out an I-864A seperately? And on top of that I have to fill out the I-864 right?

Please help, thank you.

If you live in the same household as your parents:

you= I-864

mom= I-864A

dad= I-864

If you live apart from your parents

you= I-864

Mom= I-864

Dad= I-864A (or vice versa)

Shouldnt there only be one I-864?

Instructions onn page 2 of the I-864 says:

Who Completes and Signs Form I-864

A sponsor completes and signs Form I-864. A sponsor is required to be at least 18 years old and domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions. The petitioning sponsor must sign and complete Form I-864, even if a joint sponsor also submits an I-864 to meet the income requirement

In other words both the petitioning sponsor and joint sponsor have to submit an I-864.. that's what I understood it as anyway

Now if you fill 2 I864's and I864A alot of questions would conflict with each other?

Nah, the forms don't conflict each other. I do agree the policies are confusing.. I followed advice I found on here and luckily I didn't run into any problems when I submitted them

We always try to do it right. I am sure someone in NVC would tell you exactly what is right in this case.
