Since you haven't indicated much information (not even input the country of the beneficiary)

and since you haven't entered any information in your timeiline,

and since you're not very clear with your question...it's pretty difficult to do much more than make a guess.

So I'm guessing that he needs an "affidavit of non-incumbrance to marry" aka "no marriage certificate".

If that's the case, the parties requesting the document will tell you what format and if it needs to be notarized/translated or not.

Ours was requested by the Japanese government, and we had to have the form (in both English and Japanese) notarized at the

US Embassy in Japan. Probably could've had it done stateside as well.

Hope this helps...and hope you add your timeline and complete your profile.

I agree with ling ling,

I have NO idea what you are talking about. If you would like people to answer your questions, we'd be more than happy to but you need to be clear in what you are asking, and you need to make sense of what you are saying ;) .

Are you referring to a document that states that your fiance is single and able to marry? I assume you are. Getting this document depends upon what country your fiance is from. Sorry, until you restate your question, can't help ya here.

He came from Illinios, and he's confused where he can get proof of singless cause i needed that to CFO where i'm going to attend a Guidance and Counseling Program. About my timeline, I am learning how to do that, i am new to visajourney. Thanks so much to you.

Yeah same thing happened to a friend of mine as he was 63 and never married before. The nuns asked for proof of singleness from his fiance before they would allow her to do the CFO seminar.

No such thing in the US. She went back in a couple days and told them that and they allowed her to do the seminar.

He can go to USEM or other Consulate in the PI and get a certificate of marriageability. No such thing is available for a USC, in the US.

Illinois does not have a Proof of Singleness. You can get a certified divorce decree, but only if he had been previously married and then divorced. If he was never married, then there is nothing official he can produce. If you are not married, everyone assumes then you are single. It is one or the other.

I guess he could get a statement from his mother!

Brazil required me to have one of these for us to get married in Brazil (me, the American and my Brazilian fiance). In this case, I was not in the US, and I was able to get it from the American Consulate here in São Paulo. I went to the consulate, raised my right hand, and swore to the consular officer that I can never been married, paid $80, go the paper with a pretty stamp and that was that.

As far as doing it in the US, like they said, not possible. But, you could also get your lawyer to write out a letter saying that you are single, ect ect...then have it notarized. In fact, here is the exact wording of mine:

*My letter is in Portuguese and will do my best to make a correct translation*

I, Marina XX XX, American citizen, born on 18 of November 1985, in Georgia, United States of America, with American passport number XXXXX, starting on Aptil 14, 2004 (the date on my passport), in New Orleans, daughter of XX and XX, resident of (my address), declares that I am in the civil state:

XX Single

___ Divorced

___ Married

___ Widowed

That's it! If all else fails, type this out and get it notarized!

Hell all. I have actually just gotten a proof of singlness here in the good old US. You can obtain a certificate of no impediment to marry from the same office in your area the issues maggage certificates. Cost for mine was 10 dollars has the raised state seal and signed by some cleart that will do the search on the computer they have to show that he has never applyed for a marrage license in that or his state. I ready some got by without but a simple 10 dollar investment can eliminate this part of the journey.

Hope this helps

Ok I just read what I first typed. Trying to multi task. am my spelling and explanation didn't come off very clear.

Ok he should be able to go to the same office that issues marrage licenses. Then just ask the clerk what you need and they will do a search on there data base to show he had never applied for a marrage license there and will print him off a nice form with the state seal or even county one showing he never applied for a license there. they will sign it and that should take care of that requirement

Philippine requirements for the stamp and certificate from the cfo seminar.

I just got that very document and sent if off to my future wife as well so Know all about his confusion.

hope this helps

LOL..sorry I was reading the thread and couldn't laugh about your last statement. I agree... there is no official document that proves you are single. It is probably something you need to come up with via simple letter and have it notarized.
