Hello fellow K-1 Filers/Immigrants,

Me (Dutch citizen) and my fiance (American Citizen) have filed for the I-129f back in March. And since that time I'm trying to prepare everything for when I have my interview and medical at the Amsterdam Consulate. But I still haven't figured out what exactly I could do. I've watched some interview questions on this forums, but I'm just afraid it'll be different from our consulate. So I came up with a couple of questions wondering If there are people who already have their visa might be able to answer them. Thanks in advance

Preparing for Interview:

1. Any other forms except for the I-134 and copy's of the others needed?

2. I have about 5 photo's of us, enough? (I could get more)

3. I have millions of pages on msn to proof our relationship... But to print them all? What is best I could do? Also after I went back to Holland from America he bought an microphone which we have been using since now. So we barely have any written communication. Only contact over audio/video from the moment we wake up till the moment we go to sleep.

4. What questions can I expect?

5. I read something about have to be standing/waiting outside the consulate untill you're called in? True?

6. Are they nice people? Or are they gonne make you have a hard time there?

7. Do you think my age (20) might be a problem, they might think I'm too young whatsoever??

8. What kind of proof except for emails, phonebills and photo's could I use?

9. I'm collecting money from the "UWV" disability based on psychology problems in the past. I've been in therapy and finished it. Now I'm only in therapy for structure in my life. Will they make a problem outa this?

10. I've read something about a police record? What exactly does this mean and do I have to get anything for this. (I never got involved with police and do not have a criminal record)

11. Is the interview in English or Dutch?

12. Do they ask any questions about our co-sponsor? (My fiance lost his job 2 months ago so a friend of ours will be our co-sponsor)

13. Do I need a birth certificate?

14. Any other suggestions of what to do, what to prepare?

15. We met on an online videogame, Will they find this strange?

Preparing for the medical

1. I got a list of vaccinations I got when I was a child from the "GGD" But I do not have a Hepatitis B vaccination (since they only give that to children that are born after 2003, Problem? Any others I might need and how much will this cost?

2. Weight and Length, why is this important?

3. What can I expect from the X-ray and such. I have no knowledge of any medical terms.

4. Any forms I need? Like a letter from my therapist that I'm done with my therapy?

5. Anything I else I might have missed which is important to know?

Thank you so much for the reply's ^^

it is not jealous or conceited or proud;

love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;

love does not keep a record of wrongs;

love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.

Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

Love is eternal.

Hi Denise! Before I forget to paste it, I'm going to give you a link to the Dutch/American couples thread we have going here on VJ.... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...5&start=795 There are a lot of wonderful people on there and we'd love to have you join us.

Now, on to your questions....I'll try to answer the one's I know for sure...hopefully someone else can fill in the others for you!

Preparing for Interview:

1. Any other forms except for the I-134 and copy's of the others needed? I sent my fiance copies of my paycheck stubs and my 2008 Income Taxes...not sure if that is needed but I felt better with him having that too.

2. I have about 5 photo's of us, enough? (I could get more) - If you have pictures of you with some of his family as well, I've heard that is a good idea to have those too. Not even sure thought that they will look at them.

3. I have millions of pages on msn to proof our relationship... But to print them all? What is best I could do? Also after I went back to Holland from America he bought an microphone which we have been using since now. So we barely have any written communication. Only contact over audio/video from the moment we wake up till the moment we go to sleep. - I don't have a whole lot of written documentation either as Patrick and I mostly talk on the phone and msn (i didn't start recording those chats until recently) If you can just maybe print a few from say each month I think you'll be fine.

4. What questions can I expect? - Not sure on this as Patrick hasn't had his interview yet...hope someone who has can answer better.

5. I read something about have to be standing/waiting outside the consulate untill you're called in? True? - I have heard that you will stand outside until they open the doors and then you can go inside and wait.

6. Are they nice people? Or are they gonne make you have a hard time there? - Again, just heard a few things from friends who've had it but they say the people there are pretty nice.

7. Do you think my age (20) might be a problem, they might think I'm too young whatsoever?? - I don't think that this will have any bearing on it....at least in my opinion it shouldn't.

8. What kind of proof except for emails, phonebills and photo's could I use? - If you have a copy of the receipt for your engagement ring, I think that would be good to have as well.

9. I'm collecting money from the "UWV" disability based on psychology problems in the past. I've been in therapy and finished it. Now I'm only in therapy for structure in my life. Will they make a problem outa this? - I'm afraid I can't answer this one... :-(

10. I've read something about a police record? What exactly does this mean and do I have to get anything for this. (I never got involved with police and do not have a criminal record) - The Consulate will request this for you...as far as I know they just check it to make sure there isn't anything bad on it. You won't have to worry about this part.

11. Is the interview in English or Dutch? - I think it's in English but you might can request Dutch if that's easier.

12. Do they ask any questions about our co-sponsor? (My fiance lost his job 2 months ago so a friend of ours will be our co-sponsor) - Another I can't personally answer - sorry.. :-(

13. Do I need a birth certificate? - Yes, you will need to have the original and a copy if I remember right. They should keep the copy but they want to see the original. Also, be sure that you get what is called an Internationl version...this will have it in about five different languages, English being one of them.

14. Any other suggestions of what to do, what to prepare? - hehe...not sure..I think if you have all of this you will be fine.

15. We met on an online videogame, Will they find this strange? - Not really - Most people meet online now.

Preparing for the medical

1. I got a list of vaccinations I got when I was a child from the "GGD" But I do not have a Hepatitis B vaccination (since they only give that to children that are born after 2003, Problem? Any others I might need and how much will this cost? - If I can find the link, I'll post it for you...there is a place on here that shows the requirements for the Netherlands.

2. Weight and Length, why is this important? - Not sure about this one....

3. What can I expect from the X-ray and such. I have no knowledge of any medical terms. - Not sure why they require and xray but as far as I've heard it is a very quick thing.

4. Any forms I need? Like a letter from my therapist that I'm done with my therapy? - Not sure on this one either.

5. Anything I else I might have missed which is important to know? - Just be sure that you do this at least a week or two before the interview in order to give them time to send all the information to the Consulate.

Ok...I sure hope this helped some....feel free to ask more questions on the Dutch/American couple thread too. We have some people on there who have already been through this or who are going through it now.

Have a great day!!!

Hugs, Liz
