hi everybody, i filed for my k1 back in march 2008, my noa2 is march 18 2008, my papers are in vermont. i dont know what to do, i have called the vermont service center, but they keep telling me to wait until my processing date is due, i am lost, i dont know what to do, should i get in touch with my state congressman, or should i call uscis again? is there any way i can get in touch with an actual immigration officer instead of the customer rep. at vermont. any advice is welcome.

thank you all, and god bless you.

Your NOA2 is March 2008? I don't get it?

NOA 2 usually takes about 4 to 5 months.

do you have a case number? Did you check your status?

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

ITs case to case basis.. I guess before starting the process one or the couple should really readied themselves on what to expect and not to expect with the time processing. Like my case, my k1 took all in all about 1 year and 5 months for the whole k1 process to be done. After almost a year of waiting thats the time that my fiance (now husband) had contacted his congressman to look on what's happening in our case and they said it was still pending due to FBI namecheck. Thank God its all done now. GOod luck to your case.

You haven't even been waiting that long. It seems like a long time to you I am sure, as any time away from your loved ones seems like a long time, however relative to the K-1 process, you haven't been waiting that long.

You shouldn't be worried yet, as it can take 6 months, sometimes more for an NOA 2, so you gotta be patient. I know you don't want to hear that, but you've got to have patience during this long, strenuous process or you'll go crazy.

Good luck to you

Yup i totally agree, I forgotten about mine already and just keeping busy, looking forward to football season and all other things. You will definitely go crazy and loose your mind if you dont have patience, despite VSC being faster than CSC on NOA2's, VSC seems to be very busy these days. So hang in there and pretty soon when you are least expecting it, BAAAAAM! NOA2 on email then hard copy!

good luck my friend!

Hey there March filer.

I think the others that said it hasn't been that long don't realize that you are one of the only ones of us from March without a NOA2. Lots are already in the US and married. Contacting your US Congressman's office is one thing you could do. It's not the State official, it's the Federal level. Here's an interesting article about security checks that Kim posted that gives you some insight into how some cases can take longer.

There's a way to talk to a live person past that general help line at the USCIS, but since I never had to do that I don't know how it works. Maybe somebody who's got that experience will come along soon and help you out.

My only suggestion is calling and getting a real person at USCIS on phone...the way to do this is go through automated system saying you have an RFE...then when u get to the person be real polite and find out what is going on! Good luck

I can understand your frustration. I am is a similar position. I am sure there are any number of reasons for the process to take a longer time. and the CS personnel you get on the phone seem to be mindless robots with no additional information. According to what I have been able to find out you can do nothing until the processing date for VSC on the web site has passed your NOA1 date.. currently at 2 Jan 08. When that date is close or passed you March 18 date you will be able to call and initiate a service request. This usually causes some positive activity but I haven’t got there yet so I cant tell you what kind of information you me receive. I have also found the Ombudsman group that will also take a service request kind of activity (http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1192724755499.shtm) - you must fill out a form 7001 and mail it in.
