Community SpotlightAbandoned AOS and now regret it
Mariammaria posted a topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
gandalf1989 posted a topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures,
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
Left Over posted a topic in US Citizenship General Discussion,
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?
deletedUser21321 posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...- 53 replies
Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
KandB posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?- 31 replies

2 RepliesHi guys,
I'm going to create a thread where I'm going to be posting field reports on using my US passport card domestically and internationally.
Sure, this ID should be universally accepted in the US anywhere, even to enter federal facilities and cross border with Mexico and Canada by land.
However, we all know sometimes clerks and other people make mistakes and reject to accept one form of ID or the other.
Feel free contributing to this thread.

Issue with SSN? Unable to be added to spouse bank account and credit card. 8:58 pm yesterday

4 RepliesHi all,
Facing a rather frustrating issue with my SSN, here's a timeline:
- Arrived in Jan
- Applied for SSN early Feb
- Married mid Feb
- By March first SSN never arrived, arranged replacement that arrived by the end of March.
- Tried to get added to husbands bank account but lady at bank said it came back "unverified". Told me to speak to SSA to get them to "activate" my SSN. Called SSA same day and explained situation, was told that SSNs aren't activated, they are valid upon being generated and issued. Left it there for a while.
- Tried to update name on SSN but had a problem with lack of docs. Returned once I had my EAD card and it was updated.
- Received updated SSN early June.
I'm already an authorized user on my husband's credit card (did this before updating my name so only provided my contact info) but we're trying to upgrade my access on the account. I put in my SSN, but it keeps saying it can't be verified. We also want to try the bank again, but it's a 1.5 hour round trip to the bank and we feel we might face the same issue.
Anyone else experienced this? Is there something I need to do with my SSN? Im going to start looking for work soon so I have to be able to either open an account of my own or be added to my husbands.
Any help or advice is appreciated!

3 RepliesHello , i filed i-90 for my mom last June 2024 just before 6 months of expiration date. She gave her biometrics and everything. But after few weeks the online status was showing and still showing that " Case Administratively Closed ". Initially i thought its positively closed and they sent for card production. But till today we didnt received anything. On the status they says that we mailed u letter explaining why the case was closed. But we never received that letter in mail/email. Even in the online account under documents section there is no such a notice. I did everything but still no response or help from uscis.
Does anyone gone through similar status or do u have any idea that whats going on ? Ur help is much appreciated. Thanks

3 RepliesHi there! It s been a long time since my last post. I got my citizenship since last yr and just last week was when I tried to apply for my blue passport. However, I just realized today while I am signing my toddler s tuition fee payment for next month that I forgot to sign the personal check payment to the U.S Department of State and on top of that, I checked the copy of my cert. of naturalization, then I noticed that I didn t sign it either
what can I do at this point? How can I make it better? I am so anxious right now and couldn t believe how a single mistake can lead to this.

9 RepliesI'm refiling my wife's i-130 and have two questions
The first concerns "What is the beneficiary's Travel Document number?"
I provided her passport number in the passport number field, but wonder if I should put her B-2 Visa number (control number) for the travel document number section.
Some places I've seen online make it seem like they could be asking about a visa in this field. Also, in the next section it asks "What was the beneficiary's class of admission?" and then it asks about her i-94, date of arrival, and when her stay expires.
She's not currently in the USA--so, should I leave this information blank or include her I-94 which shows that she visited and then left? And what about "when does the beneficiary's authorized stay expire?" My instincts say leave this blank since she is not currently in the US, but I want to be sure. Thanks so much to all.
