Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

2 RepliesHi all!
I'm finishing collecting all supporting evidence for my wife and I's I-130 application. I've spent the past few weeks collecting all the evidence of a bonafide relationship as possible. I'm hoping to gain some insight to see if there is anything else we would need.
Note: We do not own any joint property or have a joint bank accout. We attempted to open a US bank account during a visit to my family, but they could not process it without her having a SSN.
All photos have dates and locations. Each section has a short (2-6 sentence) description of the contents. All photos and screenshots are in chronological order.
1. Travel logs showing all flight details and photos. We've also added a few photos of the boarding passes we could find.
2. Engagement plans including messages from myself and my wife's mother, screenshots of messages with the jeweler, purchase receipt, and photos of the engagement itself.
3. Miscellaneous photos put in chronological order from our first time meeting to the most recent photo we have. It includes notes and letters. All are labelled and dated.
4. Financial interactions and gifts between us. This includes bank transfers for varying amount of money over time, PayPal transactions, screenshots of gifts ordered, and photos of a scrapbook I made for her.
5. Phone logs showing a chronological history of our phone conversations (roughly one phone screenshot/month) to show consistent communication. It also includes the same messages sent to her mother mentioned in #2.
6. Social media posts from my Instagram and screenshots of YouTube videos we've made together. This section is lacking as we rarely post on social media.
7. Wedding photos. Our wedding was at a local district office in Korea just signing paperwork. We only had two friends attend to act as witnesses. We took several photos in a local park after, but it was a small, short event.
All said and done, it is roughly 71 powerpoint slides, most of which just contain 2-4 photos. I am going to export each section as a PDF to upload separately.
I've considered asking for letters from friends and family, especially our witnesses. I'm not sure if it would be necessary though.
I'm also aware that I didn't mention all the other forms such as passports, wedding certificate, etc., but I will add that in too of course.Anything I'm missing? Thanks!!

4 RepliesAs the title suggests, I am on the part where I need to fill out my criminal history which I have no problem doing since my crime will not result in a denial from the USCIS. Problem is, I do not remember the dates of my arrest or my court proceedings. I am trying to track down my records but so far all avenues I've tried have come up empty. In the event that my arrest and court records have been sealed or expunged, I am at a loss as to how I can go about retrieving these records to provide as evidence when I submit the form. I found a thread on here with a similar situation bit I did not see anyone quite answer the question I have unless I missed it. Thanks in advance for the help!

3 RepliesWe have concerns about the petitioner's financial history.
-The petitioner (U.S. sponsor) lived in Japan from 2020 to the summer of 2023, earned below the income guidelines during that time, and didn't file taxes.
-His last U.S. employment was in 2017, and he did not file taxes before or after that year.
-He is currently in the process of filing his missed taxes, but it s not completed yet.
-We plan to have the beneficiary's aunt serve as the financial sponsor instead of the petitioner.
Given this situation, can we start the initial CR1 visa process while the petitioner's tax filings are incomplete?
