Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHello! My family is currently has F31 visa class, but my mother (who is listed with us on the visa) is currently in the US an a non-immigrant visa and violated the period of stay for 2 months. The mother is listed in the application as an accompany, the father is a principal applicant (my grandfather if the petitioner) and he's applying outside of the US. 1. How does this affect the possibility of migration of the whole family? 2. What is the probability of visa refusal/reversal at the border? 3. Does it affect the other family members in their immigration process? Thanks in advance for the answers!

Will being in a debt management plan affect our application?

6 RepliesI guess it's too early to know, but does anyone have any news or idea about what types of changes to expect to spousal and family immigration from the upcoming Trump administration? I am concerned that the rhetoric is very anti-immigrant and could negatively impact even legal immigration, or at the least slow down processing times. Anyone around during the last administration who has insights?

3 RepliesSo me and my fiancee met online september 2023, we became official on january 2024 and met for the first time in Algiers september 2024 only for a week. I am from Algeria and he s moroccan who was born in the US, spent his first 18 years in Morocco then went back to the US, which means that we speak the same dialect (darija) and have the same culture and religion. Also we are both 23 years old. When he visited me in Algeria he got to meet my family (mother, sister and cousins), our families spoke on a videocall right when he went back home from his visit to talk about how to meet to officialize the engagment in a traditional way which is not gonna happen until february 2025. We have no evidence of engagment (no engagment ring, proposal or engagment party) yet, however we have plenty of pictures together and pictures of our parents facetiming each other. He doesn t have any financial problems or criminal record (me neither). Is this good enough or would we need more proof ?
