Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesMy inlaws received their greencard thru my husband. They went back and forth from USA to India for few years. For the last 4 years they did not come- first due to covid and then my mother in law had significant health issues due to rheumatoid arthritis.
My husband is their only child and they desire to be with him now. Please advise do we file a petition again? Or is their greencard still valid?
thank you so much in advance

2 Replies"USCIS has temporarily skipped cases filed between June 28th and July 11th, 2024. While we cannot predict when they will return to this date range, a similar delay occurred for cases filed between February 23rd and March 6th, 2024, and USCIS eventually resumed processing those cases. We will continue to monitor this situation closely. In the meantime, we recommend keeping an eye on the Recent Status Changes section for updates on USCIS activity."
It seems that USCIS has skipped a batch of cases again as referenced here so I am starting a thread to track things with other people in our group.
Personally we filed on July 3rd, got our NOA 1.
No NOA2 or other movement as yet.

4 RepliesIm subject to the 212e requirement J1 visa. I finished my program and returned home to fulfill the requirement. By now I finished 15 months ( 9 months to go ). During this t month My I-130 got approved and my pd is August 2024.
im concerned about the NVC stage; as im still in the process of fulfilling the 2 years requirement. Im confused about this part, I saw a lot of cases mentioning that it s at the interview stage at the consulate where you should prove completion of the 212e requirement.
please any insights, information or advice ?
