Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
gandalf1989 posted a topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures,
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
Left Over posted a topic in US Citizenship General Discussion,
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?

Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...- 53 replies
Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
KandB posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?- 31 replies

2 RepliesMy MIL's EAD is expiring in a few weeks and USCIS is no longer processing EAD's from people like her. She plans to not illegally work, because she doesn't want to give the Trump administration a reason to deny her pending i-485 (1+ year pending now).
Anyways, Walmart where she works gives her Vacation. I think the Vacation paid out like days she would be working. So if her EAD expires on 5/10, could she take 7 days of vacation for 5/11-> +7 days? Or do you think it's safer to have her vacation days get paid out for days she would have worked before her EAD expires? Is this question clear?
For my job if I were to quit, they just pay me my unused vacation. But I don't think that's how Walmart works. I think she has to say she is taking vacation 5/11, 5/12, 5/13, 5/14,5/15... etc. Days she would have been scheduled to work she need to record vacation. So can she do that for days after her EAD expires or does it need to be before?

2 RepliesHello,
I was recently approved for a IR1 IV and my USC spouse and I are planning to move to the US soon (we both live in Canada currently).
From my understanding, I will be eligible for ACA healthcare once I enter the US.
My question is about the sign up process on healthcare.gov - Do I include my foreign income (i.e. the income earned from employer in Canada from Jan 2025 - this income will stop once I move to the US) when estimating the total income for 2025?
Adjustment of status timing, SSN and medical documents question 6:32 pm yesterday

3 Replieshello there,
I wonder if you have any suggestions for me.
We moved to the USA in June 2024 with a K1 visa and filed for Adjustment of status in the end of August, also asking for me to have a week permission and an SSN.
All went well and now my teen who is 17 is always asked for the SSN, so I thought I would file for her too, which is $260 so not an expense I want to make unless I am sure that the Green card will arrive very late.
We used the California centre for petition (not our choice, we live in WY)
Looking at the stats in this website, the days between Biometrics and Decision Date is currently 256. Today is April 26. It looks like 256 days after September 11, 2024 is Sunday, May 25, 2025. In the last 3months though, the average days are 168. Therefore, if the average processing time has been 168 days in the last three months, our green card was expected around February 26, 2025. And it is not here.
Both Denver and LA have 14 months average time to process adjustment of status, according to USCIS. So we would be waiting until October.
So first question is, is it worth it now to apply for the SSN? At College, my teen was going to be awarded $400 a month as an incentive, and she lost it al because of not having an SSN. Now we are thinking about university and again the SSN might be an issue.
Second question is on the medical. We had a medical in London, UK. All was well but we deferred both Covid vaccine and Flu vaccine, and the HEPATITIS series for my daughter (there needs to be a space between shots so she had the last one here)
In September we had the Covid vaccine here in the USA. But due to both of us having a MTHFR mutation, we respond far too robustly to medications and vaccines, so we have tried not to have another flu vaccine, which invariably causes flu and malaise in both of us.
So far the USCIS page tells us our case will take 12 months and has not asked for medical records.
At what point will they ask for them? Do they always ask for them?
I asked my doctor an estimate- she is also an authorized immigration doctor - and to add a note with the new jabs she asked for $350 EACH.
I'd rather just bring the receipt from Walmart Pharmacy...as other people here have done. Is it okay?
Is there any way to skip the flu vaccine? Is it worth filling the I-765 and then the GC arrives anyway?
Thanks!
