Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHello,
Like many people my wife and I are considering options for our futures. We are both retired and have been married over 20 years.
I am native born Canadian and now hold US citizenship also.
My wife is a US citizen. She has however had a Canadian permanent resident card - twice before. The first was acquired shortly after we married in the US and she moved to Canada to be with me. A couple of years later we moved to the US to help with an illness in her family. I got my green card for the US with much help from Visajourney folks! After the illness was resolved we stayed in the US for a few years (4) and when the economy fell apart and I lost my job we ended up getting an offer to move back to Canada. My wife once again applied for and was granted a Canadian permanent residency card. Again due to family issues we returned to the US after 2.5 years. We have been back in the US for 11 years.
My questions are regarding how we go about getting her approved for permanent residency in Canada again.
1. Is there some process other than starting all over again?
2. Can we move there and have her apply from Canada or do we have to get approval before she arrives?
I am sure I will have other questions but let's start there.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

4 RepliesHello. I apologize in advance for any mistakes, because my English is not rlly perfect.
I am a citizen of Russia. We met with my fiance once in Turkey and stayed there together for 2 weeks. It was in December 2023. We filed a petition in April 2024 and received approval in July. All this time, we communicate in Discord almost 24/7, we literally have daily calls for 10-20 hours and endless text messages.
So, the US Embassy doesnt work in Russia, so we moved our case to Hong Kong. The interview is planned for January. We want to meet there again, and at the same time visit Thailand before the interview itself. Then we will go back to Hong Kong, and he will wait for me at the building while I go through the interview.
We do not have any criminal or illegal stays. We are the same age (25 years old).
But I am worried that two meetings may not be enough for visa approval.
The Hong Kong embassy has few reviews and is poorly known for Russian citizens. Could we run into difficulties due to the low number of mettings? thank you

7 RepliesJust need thoughts and/or opinions on a case matter..
A us citizen is petitioning a fianc ..
the fiance (beneficary) 3 years ago made an illegal entrance through ground and was caught 4 times. 3 of those times fingerprints and pictures were taken and sent to jail .. only lasted for a few days and sent on a bus back to the border and the fiance voluntarily went back to their country. Was given no documents no paper NOTHING!!!! whatsoever. Not considered deported if voluntarily went back. Pictures were taken in mcallen tx & mexico
So.. the petitioner had the fiance fill out fingerprint cards to turn into and send to FBI and FOIA to look if appeared in the system to fill out the k1 fiance visa without any issues.
the results came back in 2 months .. and showed clear with nothing was found with the information we gave meaning the fiance has a clean and clear background.
The petitioner took those results to 3 lawyers and they all said there was no problem in processing the k1 fiance visa because that indicated that the fiance was never deported. And has a clean background.
The question is.. where is the fiance information at then? The fingerprints & the photos taken?
will the fiance have problems in the interview when asked have you ever been to the us what will they answer?
The petitioner sent those results along with the I-129 .. so far no rfe it s been 51 days since uscis received.
