Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

Recent Immigration DiscussionsHow Recent Does I-134/Embassy Interview Documentation Need to Be? 5:06 pm today

1 RepliesHello all,
Per the issue I explained in this thread, my fianc e and I had an issue where she was not allowed into her interview on Oct 17 because she never went to the pre-interview, which they never let us know about. She has just called me with great news: the embassy rescheduled her pre-interview for this Thursday (Nov 14) and then her interview will be next Thursday, Nov 21. I'm so relieved! But I want to make sure I have something right.
Because we didn't know when the pre-interview would be the first time around, we completed and signed all the documents for her interview (my I-134, our updated letters of intent to marry, employment verification letter, etc.) around Oct 5-7. I want to make sure my I-134 and supporting letters from my banks would still be valid now, about a month later. I can easily grab the more recent pay stubs that have been issued since, and I could probably get another letter from my main bank tomorrow if needed. However, I use an online service called Betterment for my HYSA and investing, and that letter took several days to generate when I did it the first time so I couldn't have a new one ready on such short notice.
The simplest thing would be to leave everything alone so the amounts on my I-134 match what's on my existing letters without scrambling to fix it in one day, and I'm sure she can explain this to the officers if needed. I don't think a month is too large a gap considering the circumstances, but I also don't want to take any chances given the issues we had last time.
I appreciate any advice on this. Thank you!

1 RepliesHello,
I recently requested an expedite inquiry on my pending I-130 through my local Congressman. USCIS responded, stating that since the case is already with an adjudicating officer, expediting the case isn't possible.
How long does it typically take to receive a decision once a case is with an adjudicating officer? Do officers have any specific timeframe or metric for completing cases once assigned? Thanks!

1 RepliesWe are reaching the end of this long journey! Medical at St. Luke's is scheduled for 12/5, followed by biometrics appointment near MOA on 12/20 and the interview on 12/23 (3 days after I land in Manila for Xmas).
I'm double checking we have everything set up and ready and I noticed on the CEAC site that the financial documents uploaded are from 2023 (Federal Income Tax Statements, W2 and tax statements, and her police/NBI clearance certificate). Should we update these docs with the most recent ones we have? There's no mention of this anywhere on the USCIS emails or websites.
Also, we read that for the interview, no cellphones are allowed into the embassy. We definitely need to have our cells before and after the interview to order a Grab back to the hotel. Is there a place where we can safely store our cells at the embassy or nearby?
Thanks!

1 RepliesHello! My family is currently has F31 visa class, but my mother (who is listed with us on the visa) is currently in the US an a non-immigrant visa and violated the period of stay for 2 months. The mother is listed in the application as an accompany, the father is a principal applicant (my grandfather if the petitioner) and he's applying outside of the US. 1. How does this affect the possibility of migration of the whole family? 2. What is the probability of visa refusal/reversal at the border? 3. Does it affect the other family members in their immigration process? Thanks in advance for the answers!

5 RepliesHi, I am wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation regarding being a UK Citizen with a debt management plan applying for a K-1 Fianc visa with my partner who lives in US and part of the US military.
Will being in a debt management plan affect our application?
