Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesI was directed to this website by my father who went through the K1 visa with his wife and was told it was a great help in his process. A lot of the information out there on the immigration websites and government outlets is kind of hard for me to understand and often we get a lot of conflicting information. I live in the US and my girlfriend who I am looking to make my fianc and eventually my wife is from Quebec. We have been together for just over 2 years now and want to move forward with our lives and live together and get married. She is concerned that some of the applications or visa processes state she has to stay in the states for 2 years during the process and wouldn't be able to visit her family and friends. I was curious what is our best option for marriage and for her to move to the US. She wants to remain in Quebec and work while the process is ongoing. Is this possible? I was on reddit and there's a lot of conflicting information and we dont want to accidentally get involved with any unknowing fraud because we just want to be together. Thank you to anyone that can help steer us in the right direction!

1 RepliesHello everyone. I recently received the official extension letter for my expired 10 year green card while I'm in the process of naturalization. It's form I 797 and gives me a two year extension. Can I travel to Mexico with this, my expired green card, and Mexican passport? I called Aeromexico and didn't give me a concrete answer. Called USCIS and was told this letter allowed me to travel. Can anyone confirm? Did anyone here went through this situation? Thanks

12 RepliesMy american girlfriend lives in Florida, and doesn't want to leave (I'd prefer she comes here, but life isn't perfect) she isn't earning enough to meet the minimum income requirements, does anyone here know where I can find a co-sponsor or joint sponsor? I refuse to be a financial burden on anyone and will sign a legally enforceable document that will restrict the amount of money spent on me and will require me to pay them back anything that is spent on me within a month.

2 RepliesHello Everyone!
My name is Mike and I am new here and trying to find this answer that I can't seem to find an answer to. I have been at my current job for two years and I have a second part-time job as well. I a, about to send the I-129F form as well as the I-134 Affidavit of Support form to her in the Philippines.
When would it be wise to start looking to switch jobs? I don't have a cosigner, its just going to be me. I make plenty of money now and with the new job I would be making more so the money isn't an issue I wouldn't think. I have read that they frown at job instability, even though there will be no gaps of employment. I just want to make sure I do this right but also want to start looking as soon as it's wise to do so.
thanks in advance for any advice or feedback, let me know if there is any information I left out that will be helpful!
Thank you!!!!
