Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHi everyone! I hope you are well and getting through this process as best you can.
I have a question regarding form I-864 with a joint sponsor. I have found a website which states the following:
"When acting as a joint sponsor for an immigrant in the U.S., the following documents must be provided:
- Tax return transcripts for the last year from the IRS (can be obtained online)
- W-2s for both spouses (if applicable) and/or 1099 forms for the last year
- Pay stubs for the last 12 months
- A letter of employment on company letterhead stating the beginning date of employment, position title, number of hours worked per week and salary or wages paid, either hourly or yearly"
Does anyone know if all of the above has to be provided? My dad is going to be our joint sponsor as we both currently live and work in the UK and will be travelling to the states together so currently, I (USC) do not earn any income in the states and cannot sponsor my husband financially. My dad has a government job and has been working in his position for the last 20 years so he's wondering if he really needs to provide a letter of employment and pay stubs for the last 12 months. Does anyone know if the joint sponsor can simply just provide the tax return transcripts and W-2s etc?
Any information you have is greatly appreciated and wishing you all the best on your own journeys!

1 RepliesI have my Criminal Record Check in hand, and have it translated and notarized here in Beijing.
I expect my interview to be next year in London. We leave China in several weeks.
Is there anything else I need to do to this? Take it to the US or UK consukate for a further authentication stamp? Anything like that?
Thanks for any help.

1 RepliesI was born in Spain, meaning my first and original birth certificate is Spanish. I have also had a Czech birth certificate generated 2 years after my birth, as it allows me to have naturalisation through my Czech mother. Is it smart to submit both and explain the situation, or should I just submit the original, Spanish one? Both have been translated and certified by a translator. Any experience and advice with dual birth certificates would help appreciated.

Married 2023 January, did adjustment of status and got my conditional green card 2023 November.
My husband has been giving me silent treatment non stop and so much emotional abuse. Even while pregnant with our now 6month old son.
I have decided to move out of his out and be with family out of state.( not legally separated ) but away now over a month.
He is very vengeful and narcissistic.
I am afraid he won't file for divorce and might want to ruin my I-751 petition in the future (2025)

2 RepliesHi! We were recently DQ-ed & we just got our interview date. It's set for January 2025. However, I currently have work obligations so I can't leave the country before July. This would make it go past the 6 months given.
Is it advisable to reschedule my visa interview? It will be in Singapore & as far as I've seen, Singapore embassy works pretty fast. I don't mind getting an interview date 3-4 months later. Can anyone give me any tips on rescheduling? Thanks.
