Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

4 RepliesHi everyone,
Sorry for the silly question but I've heard that there are a lot of cases that were rejected just because they did not put NA.
I'm filling the adjustment of status along with I-130A. For empty text boxes, should I populate them with N/A or just leave them empty.
example: Part 3 of I-130A. Information About Your Employment Outside the United States. For me it is already included above, should I just write "Included above".
For history of residency: Areas where I live right now doesn't have postal code, but a zip code, and vice versa in the past, should I just write N/A?

2 RepliesI came here in the US by K1 Visa and then we got married and now we are applying for I-485 ( Green Card/AOS) and we got so confused. Do we need to submit Form I-693? Or Form 3025 is enough that I have from the Medical Examination done in Philippines since it is still Valid and will expired 1 year from now .
Thank you in advance for the response.

2 RepliesMy income isn't sufficient to sponsor my fiancee's K1 visa. Can my brother co-sponsor her? Do I bring two I-134 forms to the interview? I don't see anywhere on I-134 for a second sponsor.
Google's AI Overview says:
QuoteTo have a "second sponsor" on an I-134 form, which is the Declaration of Financial Support, you essentially need to have a "joint sponsor" by including another individual's information on the same I-134 form when you are not able to meet the income requirements alone; this is typically done when the primary sponsor's income is not sufficient to support the beneficiary based on federal poverty guidelines; both individuals would need to provide their financial information on the form to demonstrate their combined ability to support the beneficiary.
Key points about adding a joint sponsor on an I-134:
One form, multiple sponsors:
You do not file separate I-134 forms for each sponsor; you simply include the details of the joint sponsor on the same form.
Q14 (page 6) has space for five individuals to list their income but says:
QuoteIncome
Provide all of the information requested in the table below about yourself, all of your dependents, and any other individuals you financially support (do not include any individuals named in Part 2.).
That doesn't say "yourself, your co-sponsor(s), your pets that weigh more than 25 pounds, the homeless roommate from college who sometimes sleeps on your couch, and any other dependents."
The I-134i instructions don't say anything about Q14, other than talking about income from illegal activities.
My best guess is to put my brother in Q14, then in Part 8 add a note:
QuoteI agree to co-sponsor the beneficiary...
and his signature, date, phone number, and email.
USC spouse (a supportive one) wants to file for divorce after I-751 joint petition but before adjudication 4:09 pm today

4 RepliesHi all, I'm a USC who got married to a foreign citizen 3 years ago. We have filed the I-751 joint petition to remove the conditions. We did the K-1 application, 485 AoS, and this I-751 all by ourselves.
Even though this a genuine marriage based on love, we have had many challenges living together as a couple and many differences are irreconciliable. I am very supportive of my spouse's continued legal permanent status in the country and do not want to jeopardize that in any way. Nevertheless I feel each week going onwards like this is a pure torture for both of us - it took a little while, I more than she, but we definitely realize we could be good friends but not a happily married couple.
Knowing the current I-751 processing time is anywhere between 1 to 3 years is worrisome. How can we proceed with both saving our sanity and ensuring my spouse receive the permanent status that I fully agree that she should have? We have a well documented life together in the past 3 years so I'm confident USCIS should not see fraudulent filing in our case. But what should I/we do? Both of us are professionals in respectable industries with multiple post-graduate degrees - but life just doesn't happen the way the lengthy immigration process would want us to live. Can I file for divorce before the eventual adjudication? What do I or does she need to pay attention to?
Thanks all!

12 RepliesI petionned for my father visa. On the day of the interview he was asked to provide some documents but while his case was under administrative process my father said that he no longer wishes to immigrate and wants to withdraw his application. The embassy asked me to withdraw the application with a notorized letter which they received and sent an email stating acknowledgment on 05/2024. I though that file was now closed so he asked for a tourist visa to come visit and he was issued a blue slip and a denial stating that withdrawal not complete under their system. Does anyone know how long it takes for an application to be completed revoked from uscis and if they will m ow notify me ?
