DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

I'm currently filling out the I-134 form for the k1 visa interview but I switched jobs recently. Besides recent tax return & paystubs from my old job, I will probably need to include the offer letter for my new job as well since I don't have any paystubs yet. But in the offer letter, it says the duration is 12+ months (the offer will be extended in a year). Could this be a problem? Should I get a joint sponsor just in case?

Yet another stressful moment in the Process. Hurray!

Since the Consulate in Frankfurt Requests Originals, My Fianc mailed me his Original Divorce Decree, along with some other documents like the certified translations of my own documents.

It has Track and trace, it has Arrived in the netherlands, but after that update, it hasn't updated for 3 days, it hasn't even been cleared by customs according to the T&T. (Keeps saying Customs Transit/Customs Clearance, which usually doesn't take more than 1 day in my experience)

In Case This again does not Reach me in time. Does anyone have any experience with Subitting copies and/or Scans of Documents?

Because we do have copies and scans of it all. I will definitly bring the copies instead, At least i can show that the documents exist.

The Translations were also send electronically, We can copy his ID again, He has copies of his Employers statement, his Letter of Intent, He can send his Paystubs again of course, Those are all replaceble if it is truly lost in the mail.

    Except for his divorce decree...

Ive come to terms with my mail yet again not arriving at all, Especially since most of it can be easily replaced. But what about the Originals?

Is there someone on this forum who has submitted only copies for example?

Pls let me know, also please let me know if you have any advise in this case.

    Thank you

    K1 Covid Booster Vaccine Query

    Hi all,

I have a Covid vaccine booster booked next week (I had my medical last week) but I was just wondering that if I get this Covid booster whether I would then need to get another dose after entering the USA if approved and filing for the AoS? Like would the Civil Surgeon say for example it has been more than 6 months since you had a dose then I would be required to get a dose? Or is it just one dose that needs to be completed either before entering the USA or before the AoS?

I have had 3 doses of the vaccine already but this was in 2021-2022.

As I have seen that some people on here have got their Covid booster before travelling to the USA and some that have got it after travelling to the USA for the AoS.

    Hope you can help!

I am a US citizen filing for my immediate relative (spouse/wife) and the process started on 2/5/2023, and as of today 7/3/2024 I still have not even received NOA2, in fact the login from the website shows still wait time about 8 more month.
Is it normally take this long before NOA2? It is not even interview or NVC yet which I saw the average time it take is around 6 to 8 month respectively. Why does government make it to wait for 5 years before can reunite with my wife?

Asking for the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Consulate (but there doesn't seem to be much on the forums). Seems like the HCMC Vietnam Forum doesn't normally allow joint sponsors. Has anyone ever used 2 joint sponsors before (I will be using my 2 parents) as we all live in the same household and I am co-owner of the mortgage on the house in California.

The entire process from start to finish took about 2.5 years. From DQ to interview, maybe a few months. Not sure anymore about specifics. Sorry.
