I want to share my experience and thoughts on the topic of the Affidavit of Support, especially regarding the financial requirements for the K-1 visa.

Currently, I work for DoorDash, and my previous job was at Amazon, which was actually my first job. I managed to save up about $20,000 before quitting Amazon, and now I'm focusing on saving more money while working with DoorDash. I make it a point to spend as little as possible each month.

While doing some research on the K-1 visa process, I came across information about the salary requirements for the visa. I also learned that independent contractors are not allowed to meet these financial requirements. However, I m a bit confused about this independent contractor part. Additionally, I m concerned because I don t have a sufficient amount of money reflected on my tax return or in the IRC documents.

Given this, I'm wondering if I would need additional support or if there s a way around this financial requirement, considering my situation.

On form I-751 there is a question about when my permanent resident green card expires, by accident I wrote the the two number year instead of the 4 number year, for example I wrote 01/25/25 will my application be rejected I already sent it in and it was asking for the 4 digit year

Hi, my fianc and I have finally had our case updated to "Ready" at the Montreal consulate. We've seen conflicting information on if we should wait to do DS-160 , schedule medical appointment and actual interview until we have received something from the consulate, or if we can go ahead since the case is now "Ready". We have not received any email or mail updates from the consulate at all, so looking for some clarity because we do not want to leave it sitting too long. Any other useful information or tips, Montreal specific or in general with the process, are welcome also, thank you!

My N-400 was submitted in August 2024. Local processing time is around 6 months. Are there people with pending I-751s who are still waiting? I feel like most people with similar applications have now completed their journeys.
