DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Divorce from non-immigrant (out of status) and financial responbsibility
I go to court next month for another hearing... The judge previously said the "Plaintiff was financially obligated to support [my ex] while she resided in the United States." What does that mean?

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

Just wondering how much time they give from notice date to interview date. I mean If they gave me 5 days notice I'd still be there just wondering what others are seeing.

RFE for public charge question and issue

We filed back in April of 2024 for AOS. The i485 got updated to a new edition in August. We received an RFE for the public charge question. So we have to correct that. However I encounter a conundrum in that can we just fill the pages in question?... or do we have to fill out an entirely new I485 because it is now a different edition than the original application?....

Second question is that we don't remember the exact residential history for past 5 years because my wife moved at least 3 times in her home country. If we have to fill out entire form again will it matter if the residential history matches or not? Because she can't remember exact dates...

Unfortunately I scoured my records and can't find a copy of original 485.

Hello, my father entered USA with the immigration visa (IR5) a few days ago. He has the passport sealed by the immigration folks at the airport, no issues. My poor mom still didn't get her visa (due to the issues mentioned here):

So she is all alone back in Sri Lanka. My dad entered the US only because he had to before Nov 30th according to the visa restriction.

My father wants to travel back to SL to help my mother get her visa as soon as possible. They are sure she is at the last leg of her visa process (lots of effort going on to get her issues resolved).

My question is, can he travel now? He doesn't have a physical green card. All he has is the seal on the passport. He has only been here in the US for about a week.

I was directed to this website by my father who went through the K1 visa with his wife and was told it was a great help in his process. A lot of the information out there on the immigration websites and government outlets is kind of hard for me to understand and often we get a lot of conflicting information. I live in the US and my girlfriend who I am looking to make my fianc and eventually my wife is from Quebec. We have been together for just over 2 years now and want to move forward with our lives and live together and get married. She is concerned that some of the applications or visa processes state she has to stay in the states for 2 years during the process and wouldn't be able to visit her family and friends. I was curious what is our best option for marriage and for her to move to the US. She wants to remain in Quebec and work while the process is ongoing. Is this possible? I was on reddit and there's a lot of conflicting information and we dont want to accidentally get involved with any unknowing fraud because we just want to be together. Thank you to anyone that can help steer us in the right direction!
