Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

2 RepliesHello Everyone!
My name is Mike and I am new here and trying to find this answer that I can't seem to find an answer to. I have been at my current job for two years and I have a second part-time job as well. I a, about to send the I-129F form as well as the I-134 Affidavit of Support form to her in the Philippines.
When would it be wise to start looking to switch jobs? I don't have a cosigner, its just going to be me. I make plenty of money now and with the new job I would be making more so the money isn't an issue I wouldn't think. I have read that they frown at job instability, even though there will be no gaps of employment. I just want to make sure I do this right but also want to start looking as soon as it's wise to do so.
thanks in advance for any advice or feedback, let me know if there is any information I left out that will be helpful!
Thank you!!!!

1 RepliesMy spouse is currently in the United States on a J1 visa. We got married in the United States while she was on her J1. Her J1 does not have a 2-year home residency requirement. We are planning on concurrently filing i130 and i485 to adjust her status.
Filing the i485 allows her to stay in the United States while it's processing, but does it allow her to work once her J1 expires? Or does she need to apply for i765 as well?
Thanks for the time.

1 RepliesHi everyone,
I recently moved in with my partner and their parents, and I have a question about evidence of cohabitation. We received a lease where I'm listed as an occupant, but my partner's mom is the official tenant. The signature section is also for the "resident," which is my partner's mom.
Would this lease still be considered strong evidence of cohabitation? Or is it better to ask for a new lease with both my partner and me listed as tenants? Should I sign this current lease even though it only lists my partner's mom as the tenant?
I'd appreciate any advice! Thank you!

1 RepliesHi everyone. Does anyone know anything about Djibouti interviews. My friend has an appointment coming up in December and would like to know if they are requesting the people who have interviews confirm that they are coming to the interview. As far as i know you just attend the interview with your appointment letter and confirmation letter and other civil docs. Your help is truly appreciated.
