Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

I moved from the Philippines at 2011 to Canada and we got new Canadian passports I believe after becoming permanent residents, then at 2019 we applied to be Canadian Citizens and I reapplied for the canadian passport at 2021, I havent seen my Philippine Passport since we even moved here and I dont really know if its actually required, we only ever flew to Japan and Canada and didnt even leave the airport with my Philippine passport I believe aswell as flew within inside the Philippines

2 RepliesOur interview finally got set for mid january. We are now expecting a baby in early april. We want our baby to be at least 3 months old and be fully vaccinated before we take him on a long flight to america. Given the current timing our baby will be a but shy of 3 months (assuming he is delivered on the estimated due date). Ideally we would want a one month delay to our interview so that we have time to travel. Do embassies help out with this? Can I request them to delay? Given I am a usa citizen should I just go and tlak to them at the embassy or do it via email?
Question about evidence of a bona fide marriage 8:51 pm yesterday

4 RepliesWe're in the process of gathering evidence for i-751 which we're going to file in January. We don't really have utility bills with both our names on them, and even though I added my spouse to two of my bank accounts, the statements are only showing my name (the petitioner). I have the following items to provide as evidence of a bona fide marriage. Do you think that would be enough:
- Marriage license.
- Joint tax returns (2022 and 2023)
- Deed to house & a brokerage account under a family trust, with a notarized affidavit showing my spouse as the trustee.
- Joint car title, and car insurance showing both our names.
- Sworn affidavits from two friends
- Joint health and dental insurance (Still trying to get the evidence for these)
- Photos of us together including two with family.

9 RepliesSo the first page it says you need to show proof of US citizenship. Wouldn't the SSN number that is required to be inputted be enough to proof US citizenship? Also does only the joint sponsor need to submit the i-864. Or do I also need to submit an i-864?
N-400 Question about fields regarding spouse 8:35 pm yesterday

15 RepliesWe're filling out the N-400 with the help of a lawyer and there's something that is confusing us. We are doing the online form, and there are two questions that the lawyer wants us to leave blank. One is the spouse's address and the other is the spouse's employment.
Looking at the offline form, the spouse's employment is only needed in a specific situation (that we are not in) but the online form doesn't have those same instructions. Also, looking at the offline form, the spouse's address is only needed if it is different (it is not), but again the online form doesn't have those same instructions. Is it okay to leave these blank on the online form, or do we push back against the lawyer and tell her those need to be filled out? Thanks!
