Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

Recent Immigration DiscussionsJust got the texts that USCIS received our concurrently filed forms! Whose USCIS account do we add them to? 7:40 pm today

2 RepliesI am a US citizen, and my wife and I (she is an F1 visa holder) sent our concurrently filed forms to USCIS last week, and today I got 4 texts that they were all received (130, 485, 765, and 131). Each text has a receipt number (IOE followed by numbers). I have a USCIS online account but my wife does not have an online account at all.
Side note: we filled in N/A for USCIS account number in the paperwork as we had not filed anything before (so we had no account number).
Now that I got the texts that the forms were receieved, what do I do? Here are the initia loptions I thought out.
1.) Sign into my USCIS account and add all 4 to my account
2.) Sign into my USCIS account and add just the 130, and she creates a new account and adds the other forms
3.) My wife and I both create new accounts and then I add 130 to mine and she adds the rest to hers
Thanks for the help!

2 RepliesFianc had her visa interview about 3 weeks ago for a K1 visa in Manila and they told her that she was approved and collected her passport. We are still showing as "Ready" on the CEAC website. Before the interview, we did have to submit a different DS-160 due to a couple mistakes on the first one. We brought that to the interview and they accepted it, as they told us to do. We have still not received her passport back so I made an inquiry and received this response:
"
Our review of records shows that your case is undergoing administrative processing. Please be advised that the duration of administrative processing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case. The U.S. Embassy understands the importance of timely processing, but adjudicators balance the requirement to process cases in a timely manner with upholding immigration laws. Visa adjudicators review the visa........"This is bad right? During the interview, they did not ask for additional documents. Is this probably all because of the incorrect DS-160 that we submitted? How long of a delay do you think we could receive for this? Is there anything I could do to move the process forward?Thank you for any insight into this process

2 RepliesHi,
After applying for my first US passport, I got a mail requesting that I indicate the place of birth to appear in my passport: Israel or Jerusalem.
I am an Israeli citizen, born in Jerusalem, with an Israeli passport.
I'm not sure what the best option is.
Would choosing one over the other have any consequences?
Thank you
