DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Divorce from non-immigrant (out of status) and financial responbsibility
I go to court next month for another hearing... The judge previously said the "Plaintiff was financially obligated to support [my ex] while she resided in the United States." What does that mean?

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

Messy name change - how do I explain this to USCIS?

Bit of a long one - apologies! But I m hoping someone can help.

I was born in Spain in 2001, with a birth certificate with my original name on it, we will call this Name 1.

Shortly after I was born, my British dad and Czech mother split.

In 2003, my mother generated me a Czech birth certificate so I could get naturalisation, however had somehow changed my name without my dad s knowledge. (also removed my father from said Czech birth certificate, so on there he is unknown.) So in 2003, and in Czech only, I was known by Name 2.

In 2005, my mother changed my name again (in Czech only), to Name 3.

And in 2010, my mother changed my name AGAIN, this is Name 4 and it is my current name. Name 4 is on all of my Czech documentation, as well as on my British documentation as I have recently been naturalised through my British father.

Question is - how on earth do I explain this do USCIS? I do not have any documentation with Name 2 or Name 3, because I had them when I was so young and obviously all my documentation has been updated with my current name.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I m obviously freaking out as there doesn t seem to be any information on this online.

    Thank you

My fiance was removed at the airport for not having a valid visa due to them taking her B2 away due to unauthorized employment from a phone search. To file a k1 do I need a 212 and 601 waiver? Or just the 212?
Or would it be better to get married and file the I-130 because there is no bar to adjustment for unauthorized employment for immediate relatives. Would I still need the 212 due to the removal and being subject to the 5 year bar? Does this apply to the K-1 visa also?

Do I have to prove every single name change I have had, even though I have never had legal documentation with a previous name change?

I have had 2 name changes in my life time. Name 1 was obviously at birth - name 2 was changed very briefly when I was 8 years old, and name 3 is my current name, which was changed when I was 9 years old. I do not possess any legal documentation with name 2, but remember using the name at school. Would I have to declare all 3 of these names, or only name 1 which is on my original birth certificate, and name 3 which is on all of my current documentation? I do not have access to any change of name documents - so if I have to declare all 3, would a notarised statutory declaration suffice? Thank you in advance for any response.

My (now) wife and step-daughter arrived in the US and we've since been married but haven't filed any forms.

Both my wife and step-daughter want to change their names but I'm confused when and how to do this.

From what I'm now reading I think I messed up in that I should've requested SS cards as soon as they arrived and if what I've read is correct my wife should've signed the name she wants on the marriage certificate??? Which confuses me since I thought it was a legal document and she had to use her current legal name????

I haven't filed the i-485 or i-765 or requested SS cards and I'm so confused as to what I should do first to get names changed and get the next steps going.

I just don't want to screw anything up,

    Thanks for help.

      Can anyone helps me plz?
I came with K1 visa and entered the US then
I applied for my adjustment of status forms and got a new receipt number and online account number in the mail.
I created an online account number 2 years ago on USCIS when I was tracking my case before coming to the US.
My question is: Can I add a new case on my USCIS existing account that had been created 2 years ago with the new receipt number to track my current case and waiting for getting my green card?
      thank you

Did the consulate reactivate your case for the doctor's office to upload the medical? I am in the same boat now.  Wondering how long it takes them.

I sent my I 485 adjustment of status(family based) on Nov 21. It is showing the package was delivered on Nov 24. The ticket to leave US is on Dec 4. What happens if the receipt is not done by Dec 4 do you have to leave the country or it’s okay to stay in US as I have already applied for the adjustment of status. I know you cannot leave the country but what happens if you don’t receive the receipt of notice.
