Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

6 RepliesHi everyone! Will try to make this short. I came to the US Aug 2020. So I'm going on my 4th yr. Last yr, my 751 got approved on October and I didn't apply for a combo since I will be out of the country within this yr (next month, brother's wedding) and I didn't want to miss the interview or whatever appointment they would have set.
So now, I'm debating if I should apply when I come back on August under the 3 yr rule or wait for May-end next year to apply under the 5 yr rule.
Would it be easier since it won't be based on marriage? Will it be less paperwork (I've read you will basically need your 751 if you do the 3 yr, correct me if this is incorrect)? I am not in a hurry but I also want to get this over with. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

2 RepliesFor all of those who have had recent experiences with getting medicals done for an CR1, were you required to get a COVID vaccine done? Where did you get that done from (I do not see it readily available anymore)? Secondly, anyone know where to get them done for under 12s?

2 RepliesAs you can see in the screenshots provided, our family's Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative was approved back in April 25, 2022. And since May 10, 2022, my parents have repeatedly submitted E-Requests and even went to the US Embassy for updates on our case, only to be told they couldn't ask for updates. It's been a very stressful two decades for my parents and grandparents and they're close to giving up because of how many times they've been stonewalled with no updates. We haven't received any notices on further instructions which someone on Reddit told me might be about the DS260 form for CEAC with our NVC number and Invoice number?
From what I can see in our paperwork, the petition was filed in September 2003. And if I'm reading this right according to the July 2024 Visa Bulletin, F3 Visas from November 2003 are already being processed.Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone dealt with this problem and successfully migrated to the US on the I-130? What should we do? Should we keep sending E-Requests? Contact anyone? I have submitted an E-Request with USCIS and a Public Inquiry Form with NVC.

6 RepliesI sponsored my husband who is here in the US on a work visa and has his own health insurance.
I filed for I-130 along with adjustment of status and affidavit of support. One month later gave birth to our son. I have since been on maternity leave and want to take an extended child care leave until next year which will be without pay and without health insurance. I would also then need to apply for Medicaid for myself. as a petitioner if I apply for Medicaid and be without pay for several months, will that hinder my husband s application?
also do I need to provide a letter from my employer saying I am expected back to work next year.
