Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

4 RepliesHello,
My I-551 extension will expire in July. There is no guarantee when I'll get an interview date for I-751. I want to learn what I need to do to continue work and travel while my I-751 is pending. Can I get another I-551 extension?

Proof of Relationship for i-129F necessary in 2024? 12:23 pm today

3 RepliesOk, so I know this question has been asked several times but I always see a myriad of answers. A lot of answers even include that it depends on what country you're coming from, and if it's a high-fraud country. My beneficiary is from Malaysia, so the embassy in KL. I haven't really heard anyone talking about it, and I don't know if they're known for "scams" or are a notoriously picky embassy or anything like that.
In every list and guide I've looked at for the longest time (including the guides on VJ), I've seen instructions for proof of relationship and how much to put/what to put/etc. But considering the i-129F doesn't ask for any, and even only asks for proof of the one trip, should we put any at all?
In short: Should my fiance and I include proof of relationship in our i-129F beyond the proof of meeting within the last two years?
I mostly see people recommending it nowadays in order to front load their application and make the consulate interview easier. Is this accurate, or would we just be slowing down the initial review process even more? Also, related question: what does the i-129F mean in part 2, question 54 by "describe the circumstances under which you met"? Do they mean how we met in the first place, or do they mean a short description of how we met in person for the first time? How much (and in what part; cover letter, letter of intent, part 54) do we need to explain about our relationship's timeline/story overall?
We want to be concise, but not so much so that we get an RFE of course. Thanks so much in advance for y'all's help!!
Error when attempting to pay visa fee 12:11 pm today

4 RepliesI was notified today that our case has been transferred from the NVC to the U.S. Embassy in Manila. I have completed the DS-160 and filled out most of the visa application on the U.S. Visa Scheduling website. However, I am encountering an issue on the final page, where it requests our NVC case number and payment option. When I attempt to submit the information, I receive the following error: "The Case Number entered is invalid. Please confirm your Case Number and re-enter it."
Currently, our CEAC status shows as "In Transit." Do I need to wait until it changes to "Ready" before I can pay the visa fee?

3 RepliesHello, I am new here. Thank you for allowing me to post. I want to ask those who have similar experience.
We submitted I-864 with I-485 but we got RFE because US citizen husband just came back to the US earlier this year. We both worked outside the United States fyi. USCIS said that based on the documents submitted, they could not determine that the petitioning sponsor is qualified.
Supporting Documents Submitted With I-864:
1) The past 3 years of 1040 Tax Return Filings
2) Employment Confirmation from Previous Employer (overseas) and Letter of Employment from Present Employer (USA)
3) Report of Investments (stocks) and annual dividends
His annual income does not meet 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline for our household size of 3 and USCIS told us to obtain a qualifying joint sponsor, but it is not that easy to get one. We are still trying. Right now, we want to use stocks (US-based) as assets to sponsor. What other documents do we still need to procure for him to qualify?
Hoping you can help us. Thank you very much.
