Hey everyone

I am getting ready to do my AOS.

Now I have a question at the panel physician in Germany I got my vaccination documentation workshett (all shots are compleate)

Now I need to find a doctor here that puts the things from the sheet I got in Germany onto the I-693.

They all want a full medical exam.

I took a look at the I-693 and it is the same damn questions and stuff that the doctor in Germany filled out.

I am thinking about submitting the documentation worksheet from Germany,it is all in English.

Big deal.

Sometimes I think they are stupid or something,or do all this on perpose to confuse us foreigners that we take off again.

Anybody got an idea?

they do not need to fill out another I-693. they just need to transcribe the vaccinations to a I-693 vaccination supplement.

new medical is not needed if it is less than one year from date you had your medical overseas.

chapter 23.3 (d)(2)

(2) K and V nonimmigrants . A new medical exam is not required in order to apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident, if one of the following scenarios exists:

• The applicant is a K or V nonimmigrant and the medical exam did not reveal any Class A or B medical condition, and the application for adjustment of status was filed within 1 year of the date of the original medical exam. If these requirements are met, the medical exam remains valid until the date USCIS adjudicates the adjustment of status application; or

• The applicant is a K or V nonimmigrant who received a conditional waiver under section 212(g) of the Act in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V. The section 245 adjustment of status application must be filed with USCIS within 1 year of the date of the original medical exam, and the applicant must submit evidence of compliance with the specific terms and conditions imposed on the waiver. The medical exam remains valid until the date USCIS adjudicates the adjustment of status application. If these requirements have not been met, a new medical examination is required. And, if that new medical examination reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver. That determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application.

Note: Although there may be cases where a new medical exam is not required, compliance with the vaccination requirements is still required, as the vaccination sign-off was not included as part of the original medical exam report. See Chapter 23.3(g)(4)(J).

this is what they need to fill out http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/appdx-a_693vacc.pdf

if they will not only do the vaccination supplement, find another doctor.

I just submitted a copy of the worksheet. (Approved..... no interview.... no RFE.) If your vaccinations were completed as part of your medical, and your medical is current (within one year) you don't need to provide an I-693a. That's just for K visas who did not complete their vaccinations as part of the K visa process.

Is that true? If so, I wish it were more widely known, that I693A is a major stresser because if you don't know or don't remember to get a copy during the original medical you have to scramble later.

Yes, it's true. I was lucky enough to have found this site and done my research before coming to the US. The Panel Physician who did my medical would not give me a copy of the report  so I asked the officer at the POE. Luckily, I had a really nice one who obliged me. Without it, I may have been facing a whole new medical.

Doesn't USCIS say you need a supplement form?

I'm hoping they won't be so strict on the one year thing myself. My medical was Oct. 10th last year and I didn't send my AOS until the 20th this year. I can't see why they'd make a big deal of it but they probably will. Haven't gotten an RFE yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes. Some countries (not Canada) allow K non-immigrant visa holders to defer the vaccinations until after they arrive in the US, which is why they request the I-693A with the AOS submission. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were completed as part of the visa process, they are not required to submit the supplemental vaccination form because all that information is enclosed in the brown envelope handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission. This is not to say that someone processing the I-485 will not request the information in an RFE. Sometimes the medical gets "lost" during the transfer.
