Wishing you and your daughter all the best!

Oh, and I don't think you're a bad mom; you took your daughter in after she let you know that she still didn't feel ok which was the right thing to do.

Thanks you guys I really appreciate the prayers, thoughts and support. Just woke up, still a bit groggy but it was nice to see this when I woke up.

Hehe she told her friends about the tests she will be going through and why and apparently they were concerned also. She wasn't even out of bed yet this morning and my eyes not even completely open and they dropped by to have breakfast with her and walk her in to school. It's a good thing for her :)

Thanks again

I hope it all goes well (F) I'm sure she will be fine and she is under good care now.

You are not a bad mom - how can you think that?

This might help some - I used to work with a girl age 23, who had a full blown stroke, with paralysis and everything brought on by stress - she recovered COMPLETELY with no side effects. She was under hospital care for a while after, changing diet, giving up smoking etc but they said while its unusual to have a TIA at that age it does happen..more commonly its weak blood vessels in the brain, which no-one can know about until it happens, in her case though it was extreme BP and stress...she went on to have 2 healthy kids, lives life to the full, and never had another issue - although she keeps a check on her BP and diet etc to this day.

That is helpful to know. I was looking at what can cause it, if that is what it is and saw it mentioned birth control pills. She's recently changed brands like a month ago so wondering if this is associated. Yes I know some might think that's a bit young for that but she's been with the same boy for 3.5 years now, rather be safe than sorry at this point in her life.

It is helpful to know though Jaylen, her path in life is in art and right now the shakey hands are a bit frustrating for her. Thanks

Well if your a bad mom then I guess mine is too, Once when i was a kid I complained my ear hurt she gave me some medicine in my ear and sent me out to play in the yard. About 6 hour later i come in complaining I was hot, she went to get the thermometer placed it on my leg and it shot to the end. She had no way of know I had spinal menigitis and well with a bit of time in the hospital and a few drugs, here I am typing on VJ 33 years later saying, nope your not a bad Mom.

Sorry to hear of your daughter having this and your concerns. I will say an extra prayer for you. My son had severe ear infections as a child and the peditrican kept him on antibiotics for years. Eventually he quit talking and was deaf temporarily from the gunk and infections in his head. Once he had surgery his speech returned and he had to have speech therapy for two years.

He had tubes put in his ears and they kept blowing out. He has a condition that we have to have surgery every 6 months. It is called Cholesteatoma in which the ear drum blows out and fills into a cyst inside the head. It has to be surgically repaired. He has some hearing loss and they have to go inside his head and do repairs every 6 months and replace a tube. There is no known cause for his case and it only effects one ear.

They can find this on a cat scan of the head. He had the same things happening and that is how we found and got his diagnosis.

You are not a bad mom so do not think that. I will pray for her a swift recovery and diagnosis. (F)

You are not a bad mom! You're doing everything you can.

I know what it feels like to feel hopeless and at the mercy of the doctors when it comes to your child. I have a son with seizure disorder. He's 11 and he's had 9 seizures in the past 5 years. Doesn't sound like a lot, but when your son goes out cold in the middle of playing or whatnot and has a seizure it's the worst feeling in the world. The doctors have done every test known to man on my son and can't find out WHY he has the seizures. He does NOT have epilepsy, so they just label it the vague "seizure disorder". My point is, just because you feel helpless because a medical condition is out of your control it does not make you a bad mother!

I hope you hear something soon and that your daughter has a speedy recovery!

Oh faith :( I do understand what you are going through, my nephew has epilepsy he's now 17 and hasn't had a seizure in 2 years but I know how difficult it was for my sister dealing with it so I do understand how it must be for you.

Thank you and everyone for your support in this. It's really meant alot to me, and helped me to feel better and a bit less like a bad mom. The bad mom thing kinda stems from the fact that I've always been one to jump right on anything that seems wrong, so much so that both my X and Steve have mentioned I might jump a little too easily...but I've always been right when I've done so. There are 3 times that I haven't, including this..all 3 I originally thought maybe I should then talked myself out of it on 2nd thought only to find out I should have gone with my initial instincts. I was feeling like I should know to trust first instinct and blaming myself for waiting.

Thanks again for the support on this, as soon as I know something I'll let you know :)
