So you think that it's the 'right' of some self-proclaimed government to make that decision on people's behalf? Who or what exactly gives them the 'right' to tell people whether and/or to what degree thy can procreate?

Who has the right to force me to pay for welfare, schools, and other things I wouldn't have to pay for if people didn't procreate like rabbits?

People who are "pro-spawn" seem to feel they have the right to tell me I should have kids. They can't believe - and are horrified - that I dislike children. What about my right to eat in a restaurant without someone's screaming f##k trophy making the experience a nightmare for all of us? What about my right to watch a movie in a theatre - all the way through - without it being ruined by loud demons?

The US is the foil to China's population experiment. The US worships children. They are almost as worshipped as Yeshua. "Kids First!" "It Takes a Village!", etc etc, blah blah.

My ideal world? Well, it would only be populated by about 100 people, so I'll modify that first sentence....

My almost ideal world? NO one had kids until they were 30-35. Only 2 kids per couple. Replace yourselves, nothing more. The population does NOT need to grow. It needs to shrink; At the very LEAST, stay the same. People who have 3, 4, 5, 6 kids are STEALING from everyone else. They are stealing joy, happiness, quiet, peace, limited seats in schools, teaching time, oxygen, water, and money.

Just because you CAN spawn doesn't mean that you should.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Platy, I do not recall EVER agreeing with you on anything, but this time I gotta say I totally agree with you on this one.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

By equal measure of course - just because a person wants to have children doesn't mean others have the right to arbitrarily tell them that they aren't allowed.

Unfortunately some people (including the folks who have many more kids than they can pay for) don't have common sense. That's a given. That said - being bereft of common sense isn't a crime, nor can I see why/how it should be.

The right to procreate and welfare / taxation are two different debates, really. Besides, you get to choose your government. The Chinese people do not.

 Also what about the orphanages in China that are filled with kids because of the system there. Doesn't sound so great for the kids or the country. But as long as China's govt is happy that's what matters.

I find it insulting that children are given the blanket statement of "spawn". Just because someone so obviously does not like children does not mean they should be so insulting towards all children and parents who wanted kids. I don't think anyone has to have kids, but most people want them and love them.

I think any system which relies on millions of children in orphanages, forced abortion, and screws up the male/female ratio that badly is one you would have to be on crack to endorse.

The US also worships pets. A lot of people who are anti children treat their pets as children. I find that annoying.

Don't even get me started on THOSE people....

Wal-Mart has an entire aisle of doggy sweaters and such now for the people who can't grasp the concept that dogs and cats have fur coats and are built to deal with cold temperatures....

But do you have to sit in a restaurant or theater next to a screaming pet? Does anyone have to pay taxes to send pets to obedience school or fund pet health insurance? Some people get carried away with pets, agreed, but for the most part as long as they take care of them how do they annoy you?

The male/female ratio being screwed up is due to the citizens, not the government. Boys are good, girls are worthless to the thinking of the average Chinese citizen.

However, I don't "endorse" China's policy. I'd much rather people came to their senses and limited themselves to 2 children per couple on their own.

I do understand how people with lots of children, and especially children who misbehave would be annoying to those without children. However, I think part of living in society means accepting that other people will have children. If that is too much to handle, then you should probably go live on an island somewhere.

there are too many unwanted children in this country and the world....

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
