Hi Everyone,

It has been a good week. On December 05, 2007, my I-751 was approved and my unconditional green card is on the way. We filed our paperworks last July 12. Looks like VSC is getting speedy now.

What happens to the old green card (2-year)? Do we keep it or send it back to USCIS?

this is so cool congrats! i didn't get my first green card yet so i wouldn't know but i believe they should send instructions on what to do with the old one

03/02/2011 - Oath Ceremony @ 1:30p (IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!)

Thanks everyone.

I am still wondering what's gonna happen to my expired green card. I really would like to keep it, if possible. Does it have the same photo in it? Can anybody who has a 10-year card tell me, please? Oh, I can't wait to see the notice and my new card. I wish hubby is around to see it in person.

Lifefrom25, below is my I-751 timeline.

07-12-07 Sent I-751 packet to USCIS thru USPS

08-21-07 NOA date for Biometrics

09-05-07 Biometrics taken at St. Albans, VT

07-31-07 NOA for Receipt Notice/1 year extension of conditional residence

It came in the mail about 3 weeks after Biometrics NOA

12-05-07 I-751 approved/card production ordered

You get to keep your old card.

The picture on the 10-year GC is the one taken during your most recent biometrics.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

could you give a list of what you sent in please?

Oct 29th 2004 -Met online
Oct 29th -First phone call
Dec 25th -She purposed and i said Yes!
May 10th I-130 Packet and Packet 3 sent off to me by the U.S. Consulate
May 16th -Received Packets 1-3 from the U.S. consulate
June 29th -I arrived in Puerto-Rico!
July 2nd -Married in Mayaguez, Puerto-Rico and also got our interview date for September 6th
August 17th -We arrived in Australia to file for Sep. 6th
September 6th - Filed DCF in Sydney and approved 1 hour later!
September 12 -Received my passport with the visa and yellow packet
November 24th -POE.......Guam,USA
December 12, 2005-Green Card arrived in the mail
September 11, 2007 -Filed I-751 on conditions
September 17 -VSC Receives my I-751 and issues NOA1
Oct 10 -Had biometrics taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico ASC
Oct 12 -Touched.
Aug 21, 2008 -Approved!...........finally
Sep 17, 2008 -Mailed off N-400
Oct 22, 2008 -Biometrics taken in San Juan ASC
Feb 12, 2009 -N-400 Interview
Feb 26, 2009 -Oath.....the end.

Copy of my passport and green card

Copies of 2005 & 2006 joint tax return with attachments.

Copy of General Power of Attorney appointing me as his attorney-in-fact

Copy of latest billing of our car insurance

Copy of our Health Cards showing a joint policy

Copy of his latest Retirement Statement showing me as the primary beneficiary

Copy of our latest bank statement (joint savings and checking accounts)

Copy of his Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance Election and Certificate showing me as the principal beneficiary.

Copy of our Military IDs.

Copy of our photos (few photos from AOS) with friends and family

Copy of postmarked envelopes of letters sent to us from friends and families.
