Hi everyone. I got a letter for Choice of Agent needing 70 USD to pay to be able to forward with my I130 case. It was sent to me last September. How come it was sent to me not to my husband who is the USC? We would like for my husband to be the one to receive all documents. Our K3 was cancelled so we are pushing through with the more complicated route...Do I send the Choice of Agent back to my husband or pay the 70USD and send it back to NVC from here (philippines). anyone kindly help. thanks.

hello =)

all the letters are sent to the both of you...the choice of agent must be signed by you anyway, so, u should fill it out and send it back to them as soon as possible...if you choose your husband as the agent, then he will receive all the documents after that point.

good luck with everything!! i hope you're together sooooon... ;)

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

...also....

since you received the letter and he didn't...i think you should pay the money and sign the papers and send it to nvc--to save time..

its funny, because, in my case, i'm the US citizen and my husband's in egypt...he never received anything from them, even though they said they sent him a copy of everything they sent me... so, because they need his original signature on that paper [choice of agent] ...i scanned it and sent it to him and he mailed it from egypt with DHL...it was expensive...but worth it....we didn't want to waste a second..good luck with everything!! :)

Your husband as the USC should be received those two as well, the choice of agent and AOS Fee Bill ($70.00). You can take care of the choice of agent by emailing NVC. For details, please read NVC shortcut on NVC forum.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

As long as you are not using a lawyer, the sponsor is normally selected as the agent of your choice. It's a good idea because items mailed out to you only take a few days to reach a U.S. address. The $70 is a bill for processing the affidavit of support and the sponsor should pay that with a money order from a U.S. bank. E-mail your choice of agent to save time and fax or email the bill to the sponsor so he will have the barcode sheet. It took about a month from the time I sent in the payment to receive the affidavit of support letter. It will also save you some time in the future to download the DS230 part 1 and 2 and gather that information. http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf
