Hi guys :D , Im planning to travel to Argentina next year to visit my bf and family. just wanted to know if u know of any nice temporary furnished apt in buenos aires? not too $$$ My bf's family has offered room and board. im quite hesitant since it might be for a couple of months  . I know they mean well being that my bf and I have to save some $$$. but still. im still thinking about it. you know,,privacy etc, i know last time i was thankful i had my own place, when i had a fight with my bf id just run to my apt lol

well anyway, the first time i was there i stayed for a month and had a bad experience with a temp apt. i slept in the couch which was more comfortable than the crappy bed and the bathroom leaked the whole month i was there even when i called the owner several times, she had someone go fix it literally days before i left, plus she charged laundry service for covers we didnt even use.

second time i was in bs as same thing happened. the neighborhood was nice, trankilo ,,lindo..but they failed to pay the phone bill so i was out of phone for a week, the kitchen faucet leaked , happened twice in two months, and i mean leaked as in kitchen floor was wet big time, then they got upset and shoved it in my face that i turned the air conditioner on , which i did and it was only a couple of times and I did it when the agent called and said she had to show the apt to a new tenant!! i was soooo upset , ,anyway ppl were crazy! thats only to mention a few , so much stuff happened there, not even funny. anyway. if anyone knows of anyplace Id appreciate the advice.

saludos y gracias

auch Maipu! reasonably priced, problem free temporary rental? That's a tough one. My recomendation is:

Have your bf research and do all the negotiation for you. Have him tell the agency that the apartment is for a friend from one of the provinces (del interior). Keep down the fact that it's for an american for as long as you can, it will get you a better deal.

Saludos,

Caro

HAHA yeah, that NOA2 feeling is preety good :P When are you travelling?. You've got plenty work to do now for the next steps!!

This is from the guides

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Good luck!

Caro

Hi Caro, thanks so much for the info! My bf and I had talked about the trip and had considered going in march "si o si" even if the papers weren't ready , we didnt want to wait so long to see each other again,,,,but now with the noa2 and probably the interview coming up soon , I think our hopes of being together in the interview are not gonna happen. :( I started a new job when i got back from Argentina mid July and im saving money for the trip back and wedding.. en realidad, the inital plans were to go to the interview together and travel to the US together but we really thought it was gonna take about 9 months for the process,,not that we're not happy that it happened sooner, but it came unexpectedly. He doesnt like the idea of going alone to the interview and really I feel bad not going with him,,but I see no other way if we need to save money and I need to work. did your husband go with you? que hicieron?

I appreciate any advice,

Saludos y gracias,

Mely

Hola Mely!

It's always good if you can attend the interview, mainly because your bf will probably be very nervous, and I'm sure if you can join him, that would help him a lot...I remember the night before our interview, all I could think of was "oh no, we've come this far, what if I mess this up for us!!"

Justin didn't come to the interview, His last trip to BA was in June and he gave me the option to stay 2 weeks and not come to the interview, or stay 6 days and come back for the interview...I was really missing him a lot so I asked him to stay the 2 weeks  But the people at the embassy were really nice and professional, I felt really comfortable during the interview, so it worked out great for us. I think it makes a strong statement if you both attend together but of course the embassy knows that sometimes it's really difficult, so they won't hold it against you if you can't go. So don't worry out if you can't be there for the interview :). Be prepared, read up on the consular reviews, example questions, and I'm sure you'll be more than fine. I really had a good experience with the BA embassy both when I applied for a tourist visa and then for the K1, I hope you do too

Saludos,

Caro

HI Caro, thanks for responding, glad to know it went well, I was worried about that, especially because he doesn't speak english and I think thats what he's concerned about. He thinks they're gonna ask him stuff in english, I dont think they do right?

We want to travel back together since we will be coming in via Houston, and his first time entering the US.

I need to start getting stuff together, thanks again for the info. I appreciate it.

So tienes aca poco? como te gusta la vida aca? :luv:
