I asked the DOS and when I contacted the Senators office - they both said it should have nothing to do with it as Mohahmed has been in the states now over 2 1/2 years and he's applied for his green card and he's committed no crimes. So I don't think that's the problem.

I am a little confused about your case. Is your husband here or in Egypt? When they tell you that your papers are with the department of homeland security then my first thought is that they sent it back to the CIS as they did ours. From everything I know about AP and AR it goes to Washington for security checks, but it is still with the Department of State. Can you clarify this a bit more for me?

Also I want to tell you that I understand completely how you are feeling. This is pure torture. I wish I had some magic words to help you feel better, but all I can say is that your day will come and this will someday all be over. Just take one day at a time and don't forget to take care of your emotional needs. God bless you.

My husbands still in Cairo - the embassy still has his passport since his interview in November 2006.

No - my husband's still in Egypt. His nephew is here - he arrived close to 2 1/2 years ago. Sorry for the confusion.

Phew! That's good news.

I really hope this gets resolved soon and your husband is able to join you here soon. God willing.

I think you need to really work hard to find out exactly where your case is. If it truly is with Homeland Securities then you are in the same shoes we were in at one time. And when they tell you it has nothing to do with his nephew being here, not necessarily so. Ours was sent back because they thought that his sister that lives in the US paid me. She had committed no crimes, and has been here for around 4 or 5 years. I don't know about Cairo, but the consulate in Morocco will send a petition back for this reason. Have you contacted the consulate? Did they give you the 221g? If so, what does it say?

Oh that's a good point. Definitely find out why it's there for sure!

Called the DOS again today – our file is at Homeland Security here in the USA. They can’t give me anything else on it. We did get a 221(g) on the day of my husbands interview that had checked on it Administrative Processing (nothing else marked on it). I’ve had contacted the consulate weekly for months and they always give me the same answer – we can do nothing but wait, we are in Administrative Processing.

Does that help any?

Did this contact info help any? I am curious to see what sort of response you get out of their national office.

Now keep in mind I am totally guessing here. Since his interview was over a year ago and the 221g states AP, then that is what the status was at the time. Now they state that in August they sent it back to the Homeland Securities. I suspect that whatever happened in AP gave them information they feel is suspicious, but not adequate for an all out denial. Therefore they sent it back to the CIS requesting their investigation and asking for a revokation of the original petition. Like I said, this is my guess, but it just isn't normal to send it to the CIS for normal AP. When was the last time that you contacted the consulate? If they tell you that you have to contact the USCIS then I am 95% sure that is what happened.

I hope I am wrong, but you have to keep at them. A pro active, and intelligent congressman/senator would be a great thing right now if you have one.

My thoughts are with you.

The last time we contacted the consulate was 2 weeks ago. Always told the same answer - in Administrative Processing. I've written my second letter to the senator, so we'll see what that does. I find it funny that with my first letter to the senator that they were told the same thing - AP. This is crazy.

i'm truly sorry to hear that , as i feel so sorry in a personal way for Hassan as he is one of the nicest and most respectful person who i have been lucky to know thru VJ .

unfortunately I would have to say that this is my guess also .. after going so far into the AP process and having the home visit there was no reason for the embassy to send the case back to DHS unless they were not satisfied with one or more of their findings .

Wishing you and Hassan the best of luck. We are praying for you.

I got no where with the number. I called and received a new number to call. When I called that number - customer service could help me if I had the MSC or WAC number, but we're past that stage. I called the DOS again to obtain a phone number of where it's at and it's still at Homeland Security and there's no phone number that can be provided. Thanks anyways.

The number they want is from the original petition. Don't you still have that number? One thing though, if they don't have it recorded in their system yet they will give you the information from the last time they had your case, that it was approved on such and such date.

Can you contact the consulate and ask if it was sent back by diplomatic pouch? If yes can they give you the number?

It really sounds like your representatives are not very skilled in immigration.

When I called the number that I was given for Homeland Security - the person could tell me all about the I-130 and I-129F dates, but not the CRO number.

I called the embassy this morning and they were all out for an outside meeting. I'll try again tomorrow and will ask if it was sent in a diplomatic pouch, etc.

So can you tell me more about your case? Was it denied or did you do things before it had gotten denied?
