Laid off before doing AOS! please HELP!

I need anybody's help!!!! I need to do the Adjustment of Status (AOS) for my husband , who came on a K1 Visa. We got maried, but now I have not a job , because I was laid off from the one I had. I am looking for employment at the moment.I was making pretty good money in my job, (have my 2005 taxes). Can someone help???? ....What happens if the AOS is done or introduced closed to or after the 90 days of my husband's entrance to the US have passed?????????? We are really nervous about this issue .....Even though I have heard it is OK if the AOS is introduced days after the 90 days have passed, we do need some help on this issue!!!! We appreciate it!!!! I can't tell you much about filing for the AOS after the 90 days although I have read posts on here saying that it is OK to do so and that you just had to get married within the 90 days.

Perhaps a better option which would mean that you don't have to wait is to have a co-sponsor. A co-sponsor can be anyone that meets the poverty guidelines for themselves and their dependants + your husband. It could be a friend, uncle, aunt, brother...anybody - it may be worth asking a few people if you can!

you need a co-sponsor. it's ok. i had one because i don't have a job right now, either. i just graduated form uni.

Cris, I know you're panicking about this, but you already asked this question before Easter and people gave you advice then. Go back and read the thread - if you can't find it, do a search for your user name and the thread will show up.

You do NOT have to file for AOS within the 90 days - you just HAVE to be married in that time. We were in the same position as you and we just waited until my husband got a new job and applied for my AOS then and I was approved with no hassles.

If you don't want to wait, you need a co-sponsor to fill out the affidavit of support for you.
