This just sucks! I have a very bad feeling this is just a ploy and will only further delay issues by packing things up, mailing them to Chicago, then Chicago mailing them back to CSC or VSC for processing. I think that 'lost' applications will only be the tip of the iceberg.

When - "what to do if your application is lost" - is a FAQ, I can understand your concern.

I tend to think that most of the new processes they come up with are just to give the illusion that they are doing something (hence the exchange a payment for a form process at NVC).

That said, as you have mentioned, those applications have probably just been sitting there for months gathering dust. This might actually be a real attempt to get them entered in to the system.

As you also say, they will then have to be shuffled back to their respective centers. One has to question if this will speed the process up at all. The adjudicators aren't doing the initial data entry. I guess it's an attempt to keep people calm by throwing them a carrot, hopefully won't cause any additional delay.

Hang in there.
