No cosponsor to be found

What happens if USCIS determines that a person's income is not enough and that a cosponsor is needed, but there is absolutely no one that can or will do it? Does the spouse get deported? Has anyone ever heard of a case like that, where a cosponsor could not be found?

How did you get the K-1 visa? Most consulates hold the petitioner to the same level of income as needed for sponsoring the green-card.

If income is low, then use liquid assets.

Also don't forget, they only count 30% of all liquid assets. Not the best methodology ever, but sometimes they're pretty tough.

I'm not referring to me (I hope) I'm just thinking of worst case scenario. The USC's income or income source may have changed between the initial petition and AOS. Just wondering what would happen.

They wont approve the green-card with out a sponsor with sufficient income to prevent the immigrant from becoming a charge of the state.

I believe they deny AOS, so either appeal or leave the country.

They wont give you more time to make more money to reapply in the future because there is not a determined time when that could be.

They wont give you more time to make more money to reapply in the future because there is not a determined time when that could be.

If a couple is applying for AOS and they have no co-sponsor and/or don't make emough money... they can simply postpone the application untill they do!!! So USCIS will never know (and they don't care) how much/little money couple makes!

Of course... it would make sense for a non-USC spuse to apply for EAD asap so he/she can start working.

But this was just a hypothetical question, right?
