Time between biometrics and interview?

USCIS received our AOS and work permit request on Sept 13th. My wife's biometrics was around November 17th and her work permit was approved and sent on the 19th. But we haven't heard anything about a scheduled interview yet. We don't remember them telling us we had to supply further documents after the biometrics but it seems to be taking awhile to just schedule the interview. Is this normal? Could this be due to the delay across the board?

Varies by field office, some are faster than others, our field office is Buffalo, which is quick. Also if case gets transfered to California Service Center, the case may be approved without an interview.

Depends on the office. We had 15 days between biometrics appointment and interview appointment, but this short a lapse is rare.

this is the way the world ends

You may get transferred to the CSC, and then no interview more than likely, if an interview it seems to take them about a month or two after the biometrics to schedule an interview for AOS.
