hard to get toys for the holidays

Has anyone here sucessfully purchased a Wii for the holidays for a present? Unfortunately my kids didn't tell me they wanted one until after black friday so I'm sol I guess. :( They do have some available but only the bundled packages that are around $600 which is a wee bit out of my price range.

Any other gifts out there this year that you just can't find?

Bridget, have you thought about opening a store credit card that offers 6 mos or a year no interest? You have got to be careful with those pups cos if you go past the due date, all the retro interest comes due...but otherwise it's a great way to use their money!

My youngest is DYING for it. She was even saying she'd forgo two b-days in a row if I got it but I just can't rationalize it. It does look like a lot of fun though!!! I'll just have to be satisfied playing frogger on ps2 for now. :)

No but seriously $600 for a toy...I just can't do it. Not that I dont' have the $$ I just can't part with THAT much for that amount, you know what I mean? I'm sure in about 6 months the price will go down. See I didn't just put Scrooge's pic in my avatar for nothing. lol

I know my dad ended up having to get the Wii family package for my brothers.

I can't wait till we go there Xmas day so I can try it out! :dance:

We had the Wii issue last year. My son wanted one and eventually we managed to get a hold of one in February for him. This year he wants an X-Box 360 (which I bought about two months ago now). Kids.

but that was last year. right now, i'm searching for a gigantic darth vader/death star transformer and an ewok village.
