It's funny how some people say her husband should completely stop doing what he likes to do (and she shouldn't have to compromise at all).... but if a woman posted that her husband was forcing her to stop doing something she liked then we'd hear he was abusive!

And that's exactly what I meant..... he went back on the agreement (aka doesn't want to compromise)Don't need to sigh...... I understood that!!! But what I was trying to say is that the reason why he just lied to her might be that he realized she was dictating the rules!

If she was open to a fair discussion he maybe wouldn't feel like he had to lie!! But of course, she doesn't want to compromise and he already knows that if he comes to her to talk about it, all he's gonna get is a big NO, so why bother?

But wow....I'd say it's sad to not be willing to give up something so trivial, as some people who use porn materials themselves have said it is. Way back on one of the first pages Agent Smith said we give up certain things to make our spouses happy...and that's true. She certainly gave up her home and life as she knew it to move here. That HAD to be a lot harder than not looking at some scantily clad babes....

it's unfortunate that there is very little compassion for this man that has an addiction. oh he said he stopped and didn't .... he lied .... boohoo!

porn addiction is easily comparable to heroin, smoking, alcohol & food addictions ... addictions affect the hormones in the brain. it's not as easy to say: ok honey, i'll stop. i'm sure he wants to stop because it bothers his wife but porn feels like an addiction that one can 'handle', usually secretively.

i'm really surprised especially since this board is comprised of smokers, drinkers and overeaters. i'm sure all of you that live with a spouse that does one of more of those wished they would stop. tell your spouse tonight that you want them to stop smoking, overeating or drinking and let me know how far you get.

since this is not acceptable for cangal she needs to sit down with her husband and explain the severity of the issue that this plays in their marriage. she needs to be sensitive to her husband and try not to attack him in any way. he tried to stop, he messed up ... being made to feel guilty and ashamed on top of everything else is just going to bring contempt into their marriage.

good points sister monique///..there are many kinds and also, various levels of addictive behavior...furthermore, the success of this gentleman depending on what level of denial of the issue he is in... you can lead a horse to water and not make him drink is true in the therapeutic sense, that one can be lead to counseling but if he is in a pre-treatment stage ...not much good, except possible education will be achieved

* talk to him about it , it is very important to let him know how you truly feel.

* if he still try to reason out, tell him the best way to let him feel about whats his doing is you also do it.

* dont be afraid to show your feelings and hide somewher and not feeling okay about it.
