Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't usually post here, but I would like to on this topic. There is no ultimate right or wrong here... there is what is right and wrong for the individual and the couple. Their life and comfort zones are by their own agreements. If his need to look at female form bothers you, you have the right to tell him exactly how it makes you feel. Please don't feel you have to compromise your feelings. Feelings are a huge part of our realities and they are what they are. To deny your feelings is just to stuff them away where they can grow into resentment. Communicating emotional issues is difficult without them spinning out of control, but I think if it can be approached in a "this is how I feel" rather then a "you make me feel like..." manner, the other party is usually a wee bit more receptive to hear.

In a previous marriage I had to confront this same issue. In my "reality" my husband intentionally perusing other female forms after making the commitment of marriage was a hard knock on my ego. The Playboy magazines and porn movies were just too much for me to handle. Right or wrong, I perceive it as a lack of commitment and respect to one's SPOUSE, particularly if they have voiced discomfort about it.

Sure we will all ocassionally take notice of others, male and female alike. It's quite natural. I, however, tend to just brush it away when it happens to me because it is inconsequential to my life and my commitment to my chosen is more meaningful to me then "scratching some itch". I don't acknowledge it. I know it would hurt my fiance tremendously if I gawked. I just can't do that. As I said, this is my reality and I know it doesn't apply to others.

This is something I discussed with my fiance. We discussed a lot of issues like this openly and frankly. I am blessed that his reality is very much in alignment with mine in these matters. I am feeling your pain, I remember it well. All you can do is communicate it as best you can and I hope that your situation becomes more comfortable for you.
