Well ideally, your name in your passport should match the name on the green card.

But it needs to match the name on your passport (the plane ticket, that is). Bring your marriage certificate and hope it satisfies the office at the POE on the way back in.

the name on the ticket have to match the name in your passport (even if it is maiden name).

Otherwise the airline might not let you board.

Referring to the "new" name on your GC, just bring your marriage certificate just in case. They did not ask for my certificate but i heard of cases they did.

never had a problem yet with the two different names on the green card and passport... they've never even asked to see my marriage certificate lol.

Thanks for the answer, good thing i caught that before i clicked "buy the tickets" in my married name!

I am divorced and I have my ticket name the same on my passport and my greencard is now on my married name so I have to bring my divorce cert., my marriage cert. and my birth certificate for verification at the airport.

Needs to be in maiden name to match passport, then take copy of marriage license and green card with you when coming back into the USA. :thumbs:

Hubby surprised me by booking off a week of work to go to canada for new years.

we are booking plane tickets and i get remember for the life of me if my ticket is suppose to be in my maiden name to match my passport or not?

There's a first time for everything. If you're using your married name, your passport really should be in your married name as well, especially if you've taken multiple trips without bothering to change it :blink:
