What Kind of Gift Giver Are You?

The Thoughtful Gifter

thoughtful.gif

You lie awake at night struggling to think of just the right gift for everyone you know. You see gift giving as a chance to show someone exactly how much they mean to you, and that's a lot of pressure. Eager to fill someone's heart with joy and magic, you challenge yourself to find the best possible thing on a limited budget. You give great gifts, but you deserve good stuff once in a while, too. So give yourself a break…a nice, relaxing break with a big bow on top.

Happy Holidays everyone! :)

You'd never go into debt to buy someone a present — that's the stupidest idea you've ever heard. You know where to find decent gifts without spending lots of money, and you've got an eye for spotting sales and discounts (ooh, what's on clearance?!). You know it's the thought — not the cost — that counts, and you're not above bragging when you get an awesome deal. As long as you don't damage your social life by venturing into cheapskate territory, you and your wallet can both be happy!

(This is not totally accurate. I do make things for people sometimes but I probably buy 75% and make 25%, and I am bargain shopper)

You use your artistic skills to create unique handmade presents whenever life hands you a gifting opportunity. You have an impressive ability to remember the favorite colors of everyone you know and use those colors in personalized art projects. Who'd want to buy something in a store when a homemade painting, photo collage or necklace can say a million times more? One-of-a-kind gifts are great, except when you're rushing to finish them by a deadline. (That Play-Doh sculpture you made five minute ago? Um, you can keep it.)

You give the kind of gifts you like to receive — stuff that's stylish, glamorous and pricey. You tend to pick out luxurious things when you're shopping for others, because to you, an empty wallet (and maybe even a little debt) displays your generosity. But you've probably learned from experience that expensive gifts can backfire — if you spend a ton of money on someone who can't afford to reciprocate, they might get weirded out instead of feeling special. Buying someone a CD or two = totally cool. Buying a whole stereo = kinda awkward, you know?

32% of the people who took this quiz got the same evaluation.

Interestingly, this thread relates to a poll I was going to put up, how much do you spend on your SO? I didn't get around to it though. Life gets in the way sometimes.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Partially true. I'm probably somewhere between this and the Thoughtful Giver. I like to match gifts to people.
